I hear it was a partial-sort-of-copy of the North course at the Nationals?  That makes it a demonstration of the fact that a large part of genius is the abillity to recognize ideas worth stealing!

It was good to run a VMSC event again and visit with my old friends. Very good event and a fine course with that secret ingredient: FLOW. Thanks for giving me enough runs to finally get it close to right.

I don't know if VMSC's computer timing program will support it, but Blue Ridge Region has a real time program which they have been kind enough to give to the Tidewater clubs and we get results both by class, OA and PAX as we leave the course, after each run. The complete results are available at the end of the event. I'm sure they would be glad to share this with VMSC if you want.

The current VMSC timing software supports that but the logistics of printing the results kept it from being printed.  ODR uses the BR software and it limits the number of people who can be on course because you need to have room for someone to wait for the slip to be printed.

Over heard at a recent club meeting: "Isn't dyno'ing a Miata like seeing how much weight a Super Model can lift??"

The other side of that is that they run all the same class cars together in the same heat.  VMSC specifically doesn't want to do this, so the "position in class" stuff would be meaningless.  The only functionality that you would get is a computer printed timeslip - and VMSC currently gives handwritten slips with the same information.  I don't see any gain over the current system, and it would require more work to implement - network cables, slip printer, etc.  All in all, it appears to be a negative ROI (return on investment).
