I am selling my '88 GTX that I just bought three months ago. The reason is that I have a 1983 FJ40 Land Cruiser that needs attention and I want to get it finished. I know that there will be questions, so please feel free to let me know what I left out.
Here's the full story. I bought the car to autox from Jeff at DeltaV. I had someone else change the oil for me and we "mis-communicated" about who was to fill it up. I replaced the turbo with a spare and changed the oil a few times to clean up whatever was debris left. The motor runs out well, however it does need a rebuild. Three of the cylinders seem to be close to specs, one is down 30-40%. With that being said, Here goes,
1988 GTX Rally-Car 150,000 miles (I am at work, this is a guess, I'll clarify when I get home) full cage dirtra inserts in rear kyb gr2 shocks up front with adj coil-overs(ground control?) pgt spec rally no interior, (no seats) white in color new muffler, new battery 5 point harness's on both sides (not sure of dates) first aid kit/spill kit/signs hks fcon computer poorly made boost controller boost guage miata rear (LSD)
spares: 2 fenders 2-3 sets of factory wheels transmission (not sure of condition, but believed to be in good shape) skid plate (big) fuel tank rear end new mazda speed motor mounts (one of the last sets out there if any) rear deck lid 2 doors 1-2 hoods thrashed turbo other small bits and pieces
the best part: A honed cylinder block, (partially assembled with new rings, bearings, etc, with the complete rebuild kit including gaskets, seals, water pump, tb, tensioners, etc. ready for someone to finish and install)
I would really like to keep the car and continue racing, but I know that I do not have time right now. It is a blast to drive and I think that would be an inexpensive way to start out for rally, autox or whatever. Needs to go to a good home. This car has been a rally car all of it's life and has won/placed several times with the previous owner. I need $3000.00 for it firm, if anyone here is interested. If not, then I will put on ebay and see what happens. If you might be interested, let me know what details that I have left out and I can post some pics, when I get them, as well.
Thanks for the bandwidth. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Also, feel free to call me at 804-938-4163.
Thanks again,
Glenn Burton Richmond, Va
