Wow, thanks Dave. You've laid out the whole course for us and what you were thinking along the way. I'm gonna print this and read it right before my runs for next time so I don't give in to entering the corners with too much speed. This all makes sense, just have to give up the 'gotta floor it to be fast' mentatility after I leave the starting line.

prsrcokr, i forgot what the heck your screenname means again.

anyways, from what i've heard, your car has a lot of power, so if you're having trouble getting good rear grip coming out of corners, your main focus is going to be super late apexing, and being able to get back on the power (and stay on it) as soon as possible. at least, that's what i do when i'm in a high hp no grip car.

so instead of having long arcing turns (which is what civics like b/c corner speed is their blessing), you can carry speed later into the corner, but make sure you're slow enough to make a sharper arc, then apply the gas and start opening the wheel at the same time. so it's basically like 2 straight aways with one tight corner. if your biggest thing is your power, that is the best way to take advantage of it IMO.

Thanks again Dave, that makes a lot of sense. Sometimes I'll watch the smaller/lighter cars and their lines but like you said I can't use using the same path with mine. It's a lot to remember at one time but if I focus on each section and getting the line right I think I'll keep getting faster. I'll try splitting the course into lots of straights like you mentioned.
Thanks again,
Brian

BTW-Prsrcokr stands for pressure cooker, it's an old motor head term term for a turbo.

i guess i divide the course into sections by where i'm going to be on the gas. like, start, floored, do this this this this, and brake. then floored, this that and the other, brake. etc. so really, if you mess up a section, i always get back into the 'plan' at the new section.
