The SCCA has approved significant stock class changes for 2017, including moving BRZs and non-TRD FR-Ss and a bunch of Bimmers, V-6 Mustangs, and other stuff into DS. Lots of TRD parts will go up for sale soon! Some help for pre-981 Boxsters and Caymans as well.

currently they are all still under proposal and may go into effect, unless debated in the coming months, on the first of the year. i wouldn't look at this as anything that has been finalized quite yet. wait for the December fastrack for the real conclusions. as always with these shuffles you are going to have a ton of people upset. I will say, from the veloster community, i don't see much complaint about being bumped down to HS other than why the R-spec will stay in GS. so it looks like its time to invest in new magnets.

They have been approved by the SEB for 1/1/17 and beyond. (I said 2017 in the body, but my topic says 2107. I don't think they generally work that far ahead!)

SEB approval is really the hurdle. All rule changes for 2017, these and others made by the SEB earlier in the year, have to be approved by the SCCA Board of Directors. It is my experience that almost everything like this that is approved the SEB is also approved by the BOD. It is also worth noting that 2 members of the BOD are on the SEB and participated in the meeting that approved these classing changes.

As you said, it would be smart not to make changes to your car until they are approved by the BOD and published. I still think we will see lots of FR-S TRD parts for sale soon!
