Dyno Day
«
on:
January 29, 2016, 08:11:47 PM »
It is time for VMSC's annual Dyno day. It will be on Saturday, March 5, at EFI-Performance LLC,
4104 Eubank Rd., Richmond, Va 23231. Kevin Adolph will be our host as in the past. The first pulls begin at 10:00.
Pricing for 3 pulls with A/F ratio upon request depends on the total number of participants we have. The price schedule is:
1-5 - $65
6-10 - $55
11+ - $50
In recent years, we have not had any problems exceeding the 11 participants required to get the $50 price. Please respond to this thread or send email to me @ ogburn <at> gmail [dot] com if you want to participate. Please include your first and last name, and the year, make, and model of the car that will run on the Dyno as well as any additional info that would be helpful to Kevin to be prepared for you. For example, if your '94 Miata has a twin turbo LSx, Kevin would probably like to know. Specific questions about running on the Dyno should be sent to Kevin at kevin (at) flimflamspeed <dot> com.
Observers are always welcome. See you on March 5.

I'm in and I'm going to see if I can start a trend - guess how much hp and torque your vehicle will make. I'd like to baseline the truck.
Justin Loehlein
1993 Dodge W350
Cummins, 5 speed
Dually - if the width is a problem, let me know
My guess, without having any clue what these things dyno at is 135hp and 300ft-lbs.
If the truck doesn't fit, I'll run the wagon.

Kevin says no duallys and no diesels. List the particulars for the wagon and I will substitute it.
Thanks.

I plan on being there. Last year I brought my Ford/Volvo DOHC turbo in a 76 Capri II. It's apart right now from complications related to cam upgrades.
This year I plan to bring my 79 MGB powered by another of the Folvo 16V DOHC turbo engines. It runs lower boost so I'm only expecting about 210 hp.

Guess your baseline numbers!
I may actually bring the Miata, since it runs now. I'll guess 101hp, 108ft-lbs.

We are up to 10 cars so we only need one more to secure the $50 price.

Outside chance the Monza will be there. Many things left to do to it, and we're in the middle of moving into a new home, (what was I thinking???), so it's a long shot.

We are at 17 cars registered. Kevin's limit is 20 so if you can't make it, please let me know, and if you are on the fence, now is the time to commit. I have also now publicized it to the C&C crowd so I expect the last few slots to go quickly.

David, the Monza won't be there. Engine isn't ready, and if it was delivered to me today, I doubt I would have it installed in time. (ever gutted a bathroom?). Oddly, I was number 13 on the list, and that's the same number on the car. Well deserved, I might add. 666 may be a better number for it......

LOL. Sorry you won't make it, but thanks for letting me know. Bathrooms are money pits, sort of like race cars, but not nearly as much fun.
