Hello All,

I've been looking through the rule book to see if there is a rule against making any changes to your vehicle after competition starts? To be specific, could I make a gear change on my kart after my 1st or 2nd run?

I haven't seen anything that says I can't, but I would want to be sure before considering doing anything.

Tony, there should be no problem making changes as long as you can do it between runs. Technically, if you can't make a change between runs you could lose a run.  We try to be flexible but we also need to be realistic.
Now, are you allowed gear/sprocket changes or is there a standard ratio that you need to run?  You are the karting guru so I expect you to answer that.

As far as I can see Gene, there are no gear ratio specifications...only weight and engine displacement among the different classes of karts. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing anything. You can also change the gear on a kart in about 5 minutes, so you would not be in danger of losing a turn.
