This is Vitek Boruvka in his LS7-powered Miata in XP at the Texas Tour this past weekend. Vitek is the guy who writes AXware, the timing software that VMSC uses.

Wow wide open course! That seems like the perfect parking lot too

It is an old Air Force base in College Station that is now owned by Texas A&M. They run in the intersection of the 2 main runways. It is pretty good concrete. The courses were great this year. Very flowing and very fast. I went through the finish of the Sunday course at 67. There was lots of room to slow down after the finish.
The courses were designed by Vivek Goel. He will be designing one of the Solo Nationals courses in Lincoln this year. The element in our Sunday course that was the 3 cone slalom, wide gate and then a parallel gate going into the turn around at the far end of VMP was blatantly stolen from one of Vivek's courses at College Station.

There were 2 bumps in the course that made things interesting if you didn't prepare for them. I loved the courses. I heard they have had 90 second courses there.

There is plenty of room for a 90 second course at College Station.. I did an autocross with the BMW club at Mineral wells that was 85-90 seconds. No kinks either. It was also a fast course.

Wow I didn't realize Mineral Wells was that big. I guess I have only run a ProSolo there that isn't a fair way to judge.

The last Pro Solo there used about 1/2 of the lot. It really is huge. There is some grass in the pavement in the middle.
