I will Do Timing and scoring for any events that cannot be filled but we would rather have new recruits do timing and scoring for the events. We have a confirmed crew of people who can help new members or people who are new to timing and scoring.

They are :

David Grahm

Robert "Gunny" H

Ricardo Demoraes

Kevin Chaplin

For those interested in driving down to Tidewater, ODR-SCCA is running the first Sunday of every month again, still at Pungo, and TSCC is running the 3rd sunday every month but April.  TSCC's April event will be the 2nd sunday, the same weekend as a VMSC RIR event, unfortunately.  TSCC will have 6 events at ACU4 this year, May through Oct, and will be hosting VAC in August.  March, April and Nov events will be at Pungo.  We'll have a T&T in May and a novice school in June.  Academi dates are TBD, but should be announced soon. We still need to schedule the TSCC/VMSC challenge- VMSC's turn to host this year, I believe?

Brian Wells compiled all the local events within a few hours drive of us that have been published thus far:

Thanks for the info Steve, Thats an awesome list !!!!

I think all the clubs did the best they could with what we had available as far as dates go. If I could have my way I would have an autocross to go to every weekend Saturday and Sunday just in case I needed to get the itch out.

I know most of my time auto-crossing will be between VMSC TSCC BRR and some of the ODR events I can get to.

REMINDER!  Still looking for OD's, co-OD's and a few select positions to ensure we hold great events.  Please let me know if you'd like to sign up for one of these worker assignments in advance.  OD's must have prior experience.

OD's - Please remember that you are responsible for arranging for moving the VMSC trailer to/from events.  The trailer must be removed from the event venues at the end of each race weekend.

You don't have to do it yourself, you just need to make arrangements with someone who can.
(Otherwise we'd have a VERY small pool of potential OD's!  Shocked )

I believe we have (or are planning to have) a list of folks with tow vehicles who are willing to
be asked to do this.

In fact, being OD simply means you are responsible for making sure everything gets done for a
particular event.  Technically you don't have to do any of it yourself!   Grin

EDIT:  You do, however, need to know all the things that need to get done.  Audie has made
a notebook of cheat sheets to help you out, e.g. remembering all the things to mention in the
driver's meeting.  It is normally kept in the trailer.  Use it!

Looks like I'm the OD for June 8. I can do also the Practice on the 7th of June.

I can pick up the trailer (and the Oven parts) at Justin's place Thursday evening and drop it off at RIR Friday evening between 5:30 - 6:30PM.

I'm open for any suggestions for the Practice setup, otherwise I just do my thing.
Cheers

I will park the trailer on Friday evening, then go back home get my car ready. I will be there Saturday morning around 8AM start setting up.

I assume normal schedule, start around 11 with 5 1-hour sessions complete around 4PM.

Then set up for Sunday AX.

I'd like to start helping out if more people are needed.  Maybe I can be an intern this year and start shadowing timing or something.  Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

I assume normal schedule, start around 11 with 5 1-hour sessions complete around 4PM.

A problem we've run into at other practice days is not enough workers per shift.

If we are capped at 30, that gives us only 6 workers per shift - including the ones doing
timing in the trailer.  It's not impossible, but it can make things a bit frantic, especially
if we end up having to use people in roles they don't have much experience with.

Just something to keep in mind.  Also if experienced folks come but don't drive, that helps.

Will you be baking us lunch in your oven?    Smiley

On that subject, check out the latest VMSC Poll.  At the moment the votes seem to be in favor of
shorter courses IF it means more runs.  (Only four votes so far, so keep watching.)

Of course I suspect most people would like longer courses AND more runs.... but that's not one of
the poll answers.
