That is one ferocious looking little beast you have there, Mr Ogburn.   Smiley

Although clearly you are missing the latest fashion in Mini racing...
you need to get some of those little hearts.

LOL, Beth. When you see those on my car, you will know Hell has frozen over. I think they are more for Miatas anyway. Right, Bill?

Thanks for the uploads. No one got their camera wet and took any third heat (day two) pictures.

Yep. Probably an option.

Is that really a Fiero??

I've only heard of them as the butt of running jokes.... this one is beautiful.
(And if Wikipedia is to be believed, the GT was actually a decent car.)

The Fiero was built from '84 to '88.  It used "less than optimum" suspension components (Chevette for the front, I think) up to '87.  In '88 they reworked the front and rear uprights and a-arms and greatly improved the handling.  Of course, in it's infinite wisdom GM killed the Fiero after the '88 model year.
We are using '88 Fiero uprights/hubs/brakes and custom a-arms on the front of the 600.

PS:  Thanks for the great pics on a very rainy day.

You're right Gene. GM has a history of rushing something into production watching it bomb, denying anything is wrong with the product, then pulling the plug AFTER they get it right. The Vega is a sterling example. Dick Baumgartner installed a Cosworth Vega engine in a Fiero some years ago. Dick autocrossed with us a few times in the late 90's early 2000's in an old Radial Sedan Cosworth. Read Bob Lutz's book, "Car Guys vs Bean Counters", and John Delorean's "On a Clear Day You Can See General Motors", and you'll crack up.

You are welcome, Gene. It was fun watching you and Bernard slide the Fiat around on Sunday. It looked like a handful.

Those LCAC's are bad ass!
I was stationed at Camp Pendleton and where I was at was about 1/2 mile away from where the big ole LCAC's are based (we use to drag race down the access road!) . Anyhow those things can hover a bus size object if needed. The person flying the thing is a aircraft pilot.
