Thanks for the results. I have not read the rule book entirely, but can a car in STU be in street tire?

Yes, STU=Street Touring Ultra
See page 81 in the 2013 SCCA National Solo Rules.

That was quick, Gunny. Thanks.  I enjoyed working on the course with you.

Actually, James is right. A car in STU is already in a street tire class so he is not allowed to participate in VMSC's street tire class. None of the SCCA street tire classes can run in our local street tire class. Our street tire class is for cars that are permitted to run r-comps, but chose to run on street tires. It is a class that should go away next year when stock classes are limited to street tires.

Had a great time today. Really enjoyed the course.

FYI - Looks like Tony Todd (NCS) may have been credited with someone else's time.

His 66 was 10 or so seconds faster than all of his other runs.

I believe Scott is correct on the time assigned to the CS-Novice #74.  That car was next in line behind yours and it sure looks like your times for the second run were switched.

That would explain the 83.0 on my second run. I did see a 66 on the display. Didn't get the correlation before.

Damn.  I already quit my job so I can pursue a career as a professional race car driver!

Oh well, that's a bummer.  It looks like my results were pretty poor in reality.  Only one direction to go from there though!

Thanks for a great event.  I had a blast!

Thanks for posting the results Gunny.
At least I got one clean run, I liked the course it was technical and fast. I think that the pressure of my mom watching was too much for me!

Did the half season results ever get posted? I would love to see how far off I am.  :-)

Hmmmm.  Not related to having your only Hyundai competition show up, I'm sure.   Grin

Yeah - actually the guy in the veloster turbo is probably beating us both.

Aaron - unless you come to the rest of the events and the veloster guy doesn't, I figure he will have the coveted Hyundai life sized trophy.  I have not and don't plan to run mine this season.

If I had the cumulative results we could see if there was any way for you to claim it.

I'm trying to the Mazda one but I have missed 2 events so I'm guessing my chances are quite slim.

Haha - she looked like she had a good time.  The smile crept out in the middle of the run, and a good laugh at the end :-).

Great event and was a particularly challenging course for me. I wish I wouldn't have let it beat me down cause one good run would have still placed me pretty decently but I just couldn't land it.

Also amongst the jokes I don't think I ever said it, but great course Gunny. Was a damn good challenge and I definitely took something home with me from it.

Thanks, I cant take all the credit though. David and Englebert made sure I didn't make it a big figure 8! Smiley
The course was very challenging! The weight transfer with all the elements really hurt my hip! Cobalt chromium body parts still hurt!

good times

Thanks for this event, everyone.  The course was great!  It's good to be back in the land of proper 1/4 mile dragstrips and bigass parking lots.  Smiley  Compared to up here in Sterling, this was like driving two courses back to back.

Here are the preliminary standings for todays event

Results VMSC autocross Aug 8, 2013

When are the final (corrected) standings usually posted?  I feel bad having false results up there making me look faster than I am.

Thanks again for a great event.  It was my first autocross and it totally exceeded my expectations.  What a great course!

I'm getting the race computer tonight, I have a busy work schedule this weekend, hopefully I can get to changing the standings on the web site.
