Enjoyed the event. with the exception of the turn marshaling later.. I really shouldn't have been on my feet that long, but I pushed my self as far as I could.  max time I can stand is about 1hr 30mins any long and my legs swell up badly.  I also enjoyed (im guessing) Chris's mother screaming her way around the course during her ride-a-long. as for my time.. yeah I already know I left 2-3 seconds out on the course the last run was a woulda coulda shoulda run.  Congrats To David for winning STX. Everytime I see you run you keep looking smoother and smoother to the point I don't think I can catch you anymore.

There are some worker assignments that can be performed sitting down.
Anything inside the trailer, for example, or spotter.
And these days even the starter can do his job from a chair.  Wink

The trick is to get to registration early enough to snag one of those jobs.
(Or, volunteer in advance to do early gate duty.)

I always love the pictures, many thanks!

I would like to note that in the pictures the world around my car looks blurry. It must just be the aura of awesomeness, lol.

If so then there were a number of awesome cars out there yesterday.   Grin

that I know.. but in this case its not rather I was standing or sitting. to be a bit more clear I can only be in an upright position for about 6 hours a day. Then I have to lye down. Its been at the last few events that I would not work due to medical.. but due to low turn out I expected I may have to.. just not for as long as we did. by the 4th run of the 2nd heat I was already having trouble seeing and had to walk off during 5th-6th run. this was because body was on full crash mode. I did have to be driven home from the event.

All you have to do is let the staff know whats going on! If you have a medical condition then state the fact when you register. We like to take care of our own, you just have to let us know up front and not after the fact.

If I can be of any help just let me know.

Here are my photos. I did the first heat and Gunny and Donna covered the second heat. I am having an issue with Flickr getting them all uploaded. There should be about 498 when they all make it into the ether.

Look, Ma, no hands!!!

p.s. to Keath: the pics don't seem to be organized into an album, just go to the photostream and click through.  Second heat pics come first, then around page 19 or 20 you get to first heat.

My apologies on that.  I thought you had said you couldn't run so we put you someplace that shouldn't have needed to run.  I didn't realize standing was an issue.  I am truely sorry if you were hurt by the placement.

tis ok Keath  you did fine. Just at the time of reg.. I thought we had 3 heats and not just 2.  If it was 3 I would have been ok.. I think.  I was preparing for that just incase..  its why I showed up at 930 and not my normal 8 am. If I knew it was only going to be two heat I may have voiced my opinion more.
