Well bad things happened to my car on the practice AutoX.
During the run in about a 2 second span of time my car went from haulin the mail to a big _ss paper weight! Smiley
The noise in the car sounded like a cone was stuck in the wheel well or something and everything just shut down (it was pretty weird)
Anyhow a long story sort. My car was stuck in second gear and the shifter would not move!

Justin and I disassembled the transmission from the car and we are hunting for a new one! We will also rebuild the one that is broke and eventually put it back in the car.

here are some pics

If you tear it down i would love to know what the culprit ends up being and If your looking... I know a guy who specializes in transmissions if your looking for your traditional fix. Either way, keep us informed and good luck.

Well since you already committed to going to SSP you might look at taking advantage of this chance to build this or the new transmission to take advantage of whatever allowances there are in SSP for transmissions (if there are any.  I don't really know the rules for SP.  Heck, I only read the Stock rules from end to end for the first time this last summer.)

Sorry to see that happen to your car.  You missed a fun course on Sunday.

Sorry to see that happen. I was hoping it was just a broken shift linkage. I had a bad cable on my Mazda and it was basically stuck/immovable like yours

Ok just a little update.
Got the transmission from Blacksburg SC. Seems to be in good shape. The transmission was built by RPMTransmissions.  Justin and I think its a level 4 transmission so if its good they rate it to handle up to 550hp which is way more than my car puts to the rear wheel.

The transmission is in the car and it seems to be working just fine.
I broke a $16.00 clamp so the car is still not all the way done.
I picked up a clamp today (it had to be shipped) so the car should be done tomorrow! Can't wait to drive it.

The car is all back together! drove it home tonight.
Shifting is crisp. Will change the fluid again this weekend just to make sure all the old stuff is out.
I also have it scheduled for an alignment and inspection for VIR this Wednesday.

cudo's to Justin for saving me a whole crap load of money!
