Registration for BRR-SCCA  2012 Solo Championship Event #9 / College Challenge on 9/29/12  +  BRR-SCCA  2012 Solo Championship Event #10 /  BRR - VMSC Challenge is open

http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.advert/uidEvent/724B9EDC-BFBF-77AC-B7580DCF109FD73A

You can sign up for one or both days.

SCCA Members    Both days=$40   Single day=$25
Non-members      Both days=$50   Single day=$35

The Challenges will be scored on the results from the individual events so everyone is welcome to run both days.

There is no official hotel, but there are many reasonably priced hotels close by.

Also Jim, the hot dog guy who has been a regular at the VMSC events,  will be on site offering hot dogs, chips and drinks for sale for a convenient lunch or snack.

You can post up here if you have questions.

What is the difference in the two days?
Do the points from this event count towards our points?

Gunny

So that is a great question. Yes the BRR/VMSC Challenge is just Sunday. BRR also has a College Challenge where the local college car clubs and alums come out and compete. Usually the challenges are on separate weekends, but this year availability of the lot dictated that we do them both on one weekend.

Since the challenges are "an event within an event" and are scored based on the results of the autocross, each day will run, and have the look and feel of a regular BRR autocross.  Each day is a separate and distinct event. That is why anyone can run either or both days.

The lot at Verona is bigger than RIR, but smaller than VMP, and is a bit bumpy in spots. Our courses are a good mix of fast and technical sections and run in the 50 - 60 second range.

So all that said if you just want to come out for the VMSC portion on Sunday that's great. If you want to spend the weekend and autocross with us both days we would be honored to have you

Good question.  Traditionally, we've only awarded attendance points when it was at BRR, but there's no real reason for that...we just haven't ever discussed it.  Would be open to changing that.

OK, Just wondering.  With 3 weekends of event stuff I don't think I can make this one but figured if I had I question about it someone else was probably thinking the same thing.

so, just to clarify a little more, there are two completely separate sets of results for the two days?

Was a bit confused myself, I created an account at the link in the first post and then registered for the event :

If its not north or south its not going up or down unless we are talking elevation, its more like going over.

For a minute there I thought it wasn't at Verona, They have had a few at Va tech this year.

So, are there anyone going the day before so they don't have to start out so early in the morning? I have to sustain my beauty sleep.

Please excuse my ignorance, but I don't know the name you used to register. I can fix it once I have the correct name.
