I was playing around on google maps and noticed a very interesting place off of the James near Rt 10, does anyone know what this is ?

It sure looks like it would be fun !

That does look interesting.  It's a county training complex.  All I've ever heard is that we can't run on Chesterfield County property.

My recollection is that it was the County's risk manager who stopped us from running at Manchester HS. The risk manager would deal with all county property, but who knows if the old one is still around. It never hurts to ask. We also need to contact the new owner of MEP.

Looks like a new neighborhood to me. Just wait a few months until the houses are build.

I don't think it is a housing area.  It has Fire training stuff all over it and they could train fire truck drivers and police on the twisty roads. It would be an awesome little track, like Suzuka where all curves are different. Almost a half mile straight, nice!  The county should use it as a revenue generator and host car and go-kart races.

Chesterfield County Stalker Citizen GIS confirms that it's the "Public Safety Training Complex".

Owner Name: County of Chesterfield
Parcel Address: 13900 Allied Rd
Total Assessment: $1,668,300.00
Zip Code: 23836

If you zoom in far enough on the map, it shows the Training Complex label up at the North end of the property.

I've mentioned this to Danielle.

Back before the saftey nazis found out we were using county property, an officer who was then an instructor at the county's pursuit driving school used to come our to watch us run at Cloverleaf Mall.  He even ran our course in his police cruiser a couple of times.  If this is the same facility on which he does his instructing, we should at least ask if it might be for rent on a weekend.  Does anyone remember his name?

It does look like it ! But I think the area is considered an industrial zone.

Has anyone had the opportunity to look at the other lot behind the racetrack at RIR/RRC ?
Looks like there is obstacles sticking up from the ground between the parking spaces  :  (

As I remember, the risk assessor had no "real" authority over the school board. She managed to have us run off of Cloverleaf after witnessing a NASA drift event. When we ran the student parking lot at Manchester, we were told that the school got to keep the money for whatever they wanted to use it for, and they loved it! We always left the lot better,(cleaner), than we found it. Not content with removing us from Cloverleaf, (and not understanding a damn thing we were doing), she managed to convince the school board we were a liability, and they caved. I made several calls, and sent several emails to my supervisor, and never heard back. We probably have a better chance of legally racing down Broad Street than we ever will running on anything owned by Chesterfield.
