I see all these abbreviations for classes on the registration page, so if my MR2 starts in C-stock, but is modified to Street Touring, does that mean STC? Also does street tire class just mean "not slicks" basically? Sorry, I'm TERRIBLE at deciphering SCCA rules.

I just uploaded a couple of files to the Home/Upload & Download Files section.

One is a chart Jeff sent out a week or two ago, for easy classing.  That will help you figure out the right category based on what mods you've done.

The other is the 2012 rulebook, just scroll down to the section on whatever category you figured out from the chart, and it should give you the rest.

My AW15 goes in STS, YMMV.  Wink

hey MR2, I definitely agree that the classing is a bit confusing. You can also apparently write to the tech SCCA folks and describe your car to them for further assistance and help with the rules. The uploaded classing spreadsheet definitely helps to dumb down the rules to my level though Tongue

We can also help you in tech on Sunday if you are still confused. C-Stock and the C in STC have nothing to do with each other. R-compund tires (not really slicks since these are street legal, but they look sorta like slicks) are legal in stock. In the ST classes you have to run a tire with at least a 140 treadwear rating. They have a full tread pattern.

It can be confusing, but there are plenty of people around to help.
