Lots of ~ok~ photos.  We didn't get all the cars/heats, but we did get a few.   Grin

Also, a video of my fastest run (I think).  I need to get one of those car mounted options - anyone point me in the right direction?

Not too fast - but w/ street tires I"m pleased: 59.595 (I could be a few hundredths off, I don't have my slips in front of me).  This was a BLAST!  Thanks everyone for your help!

I have a Contour HD and I really like it.  It's easy to use, even with gloves on, and the video quality is very good.  The suction cup windshield mount (sold separately) is rock solid.  It has a lot of different settings, most of which you set up on the computer ahead of time so there's just a couple of switches on the camera to fiddle with in real time.

(Plus it has cool laser beams that shine out the front to help you align the lens to the horizon.)

The 1080p HD model is not very expensive either, right now you can get one from Amazon for under $140 (plus $30 for the windshield mount).  The battery life is very good, but it comes with a tiny 2GB microSD chip so you'll probably want to upgrade to a 16 or 32GB when you find one on sale.

I notice they've just come out with a new model ContourROAM, a bit more expensive but it has better optics, wider field of view, and more waterproof.  Or you can go with one of their units with GPS if you have deeper pockets.  (I may put that on my Christmas list...   Cheesy )

I was working on the course during your wife's heat.  Tell her we were really impressed with how quickly she picked it up.   Cheesy

Thanks for the pics!

Trying not to get nailed with rocks from the rocket in front of me taking off, haha.

I use a Camsports HD Max. It's got an internal mic, but all you really get is wind noise, so it's better to get an external mic set up. Haven't really tried covering the internal up though, I'm just working on getting an external mic. (In which case, does anyone have one they recommend?)

No volume because all you'd hear is wind noise for the time being.

Been working so much I didn't have a chance to review and post my video from the sept, 11 event
Forgive my sloppy driving the car was being a bit difficult due to mounting my tires on different rims and not getting the right pressures in them additionally they were starting to cord  Undecided

my best clean run 42.8xxx

I use the HD motorsports gopro hero it comes with a case+mounts and you can take it kayaking and other things I've had formal complaints about my video being shaky because I have not shortened my mount yet but it came with so many adapters you have to be an engineer to piece it together correctly:
