The 2011 autocross schedule of 10 autocrosses and 3 schools/practices is now set. Come join us! Registration at MyAutoEvents should be open in a few days. Go to MyAutoEvents to register by pressing the Registration button at the top right of the home page.

Note our new venue, the Meadow Event Park, which is almost as large as VMP with the pavement quality of RIR. It is located just east of King's Dominion and should be a great, new autocross site.

March 27 @ Meadow Event Park (MEP)
April 9-10 @ Richmond International Raceway (RIR) (school on Saturday and autocross on Sunday)
April 30-May 1 @ MEP (practice autocross on Saturday and autocross on Sunday)
May 15 @ RIR
June 12 @ MEP
July 10 @ RIR
August 20-21 @ RIR (practice/school on Saturday and autocross on Sunday)
September 11 @ Virginia Motorsports Park (VMP) (charity event)
October 9 @ VMP  October 16 @ RIR
November 6 @ VMP

Yes, lots of events!
Really looking forward to this season.
Learned a few things about the car at the end of last season.
Got a new hip (modern technology is awesome) and I feel great.
The car is ready!

Incredible how many events this club puts on! Very exciting. I'm a Norfolk autocrosser and would love to come race with your club when able (military).

General question:
Does VMSC intentionally schedule most of its events on the same days that TSCC schedules its events? If not, perhaps VMSC and TSCC are willing to deconflict schedules in future seasons? (I'll pose the question with TSCC, too.)

On your list above, the June 12 event is listed at MEP, but the calendar page (http://www.vmsc.org/index.php?option=com_jcalpro&Itemid=50&extmode=cal&date=2011-06-01) shows the June 12 event at RIR.

Which is correct? Putting all local events/locations in my iCal and am hoping to be as accurate as possible. Thanks.

Hope to meet you guys sometime this season!   Cool

Mark,

Hope you can join us at many of our events. We are excited about our new site, Meadow Event Park. On conflicts, we are working with TSCC to avoid problems in the future. This year, we were not aware that TSCC had moved from its preference for the third Sunday that it had followed for years until after our dates were set. All of us are subject to the availability of sites.

The 6-12 event is at MEP. I have fixed the calendar entry. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I look forward to meeting you.

Understood,  thanks David!

I'm hoping to have my first complete season for championship points purposes, and since TSCC is my primary (not to mention local!) club, I'll unfortunately not be able to make the VMSC events that conflict.

I hope to come out to your cone clinic for some needed suspension tuning, but doubt that my car will be ready in time. The April 30th event at MEP is probably the first one I can make it out to. Looking forward to it!   Smiley

Cheers,

Look forward to seeing you there. I am interested in seeing yourZ. I had a '75 Z that I have fond memories of. Unfortunately, like many Zs of that era, it was a rust bucket.

Where do you go to join the club to be a member?  I have looked all over but can't seem to find it.

At the top of the home page, you will see a gray menu. Move your cursor over Home, select Upload and Download Files, then select Public Files. The application is near the bottom.

Here is the shortcut - http://www.vmsc.org/upload-download-files/public-files/index.php.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. In case you missed the event, here is the schedule when we run at MEP or RIR. Registration and tech inspection of your car is form 9-10:30. The drivers' meeting is at 10:30 and the first car is off at 11. You want to be there early to have time to correct any issues discovered during tech, e.g., loose battery, and to have plenty of time to walk the course. The more times you walk the course, the better you will do and the more fun you will have. No one likes going off course multiple times because you aren't sure where to go.

When we run at VMP, the diver's meeting is at 11:30 and the first car is off at noon due to the Dinwiddie County noise ordinance.

Ask away if you have more questions.

We just had to move out 10/9 event at VMP to 10/16 at RIR because of a rained out event being rescheduled at VMP.  Registration is open here on MyAutoEvents.

BRR's 10/16 event got moved from Verona to Salem which is a bit far.  We're talking about having the Challenge at our November event at VMP.

Ill definitely try to make it nov 6th!

Also is there a page where I can see where my car needs to be up to par in order to race etc?  Im more than likely going to get membership for the spring or summer season.  Thanks again for the help and the friendly welcoming!

Kinda bummed that my 2011 autocross season simply didn't happen.  As it turns out, about half of the events were the same day as my TT events, and those pay me in free tires.

I'm hoping to make it out a couple of times next year, and maybe get Alastair started in some sort of gas-powered kart.

Sorry I missed you all this year.
