2  General / Technical Help / 2010 Classing Question on: February 22, 2010, 09:20:58 AM
I noticed on the SCCA website that the new 2010 classing and PAX numbers are out. It appears to me that the S2000 (all years) has been moved from AS to BS.  Am I reading that correctly?

9  General / Technical Help / Re: Cordless Impact Wrench on: November 14, 2008, 07:12:33 AM
The Milwaulkee would be great.  However, I bought a Dewalt 18V before I saw your response.  It seems to work well.  I will know for sure this Sunday 11/16 at our next auto-x.  How much did you want for the Milwaukee?
10  General / Technical Help / Cordless Impact Wrench on: November 10, 2008, 07:42:20 AM
I'm going to buy a cordless impact wrench.  Does anyone have any feedback as to brands and reliability?

Thanks

13  General / Open Forum / Is it legal to drive R-compound DOT on the street? on: August 07, 2007, 03:57:07 PM
Does anyone know if it is legal to drive on the street with DOT R-compound tires.  I know it is not recommended and they will wear fast.  But I was wondering if it was feasable on days when I would be competing in a local Autocross.

14  General / Open Forum / Repeal the VA "Civil Remedial Fees" for Traffic Offenses on: July 22, 2007, 07:39:25 AM
I would perfer to pay a gasoline tax that was equally applied to all drivers.  The more you drive the more you pay.  Anyone who buys fuel in VA would pay the extra tax.  I have a hard time seeing how the new law promotes safe driving when you can go out to Rt. 95 any day and set your speed contol to 70-75 mph and you will have a steady stream of non VA vehicles passing you on both sides.

It certainaly will be more burdensome on lower income families.  It also means everyone who is cited will need to go to court and fight.  You certainly would need to contest any citations that are subjective in nature.  Is anyone interested in starting a letter writing campaign to our representatives?  While I agree that we need to stop drunk and reckless driving, this law is unfair to residents and clearly is not intended to stop bad behavior.  It is a tax that our representatives were afraid to address directly.

I'm glad someone posted this.  I was concerned when I saw it in the newspaper yesterday.  It seems rather severe for the lesser offenses and also unfairly punishes Virginia residents more than out of state residents.  Seem like it could be challenged in court as it hands out radically different punshmnets for the same offense to different offenders depending upon their residence.

That clears it up for me.

I have a mazdaspeed 6 entant # 24, which is normally in DS but was shown in the results as DSP.  I think there was another DS vehicle a BMW,  entrant #21 that is normally in DS that was listed as SM.  I haven't made any modifications to my car.  I am using R compound tires on stock size rims.  I don't think that makes a class change?  It doesn't really make a big difference to me, I am just curious as to what caused the class change.
19  Events / Autocross / May 13th Porsche 911 on: May 19, 2007, 02:57:01 PM
Just curious.  Were some car entrants put into different classes for the Mother's day event?
