1  General / Autos and Autosport / Re: The Evo's not ready for tomorrow 13Oct13. on: October 19, 2013, 07:01:25 AM
Not having much luck. The cars gonna be out for the winter more then likely. Finally got it back together last night and the throw outbearing clip is grabbing but won't lock. So the transmission can't engage and needs to be pulled back out of the car and more then likely ill have to purchase a new clutch disk and pressure plate which is not in the winter budget right now.  Sad

It's after 2am now and the car still needs a couple more hours of work. Gonna give up, head home and get some sleep so I can come out tomorrow.  /sadface

Well, we just found some bolts so gonna head to the shop and see if we can get it together tonight with out running into any issues. Either way ill be out there tomorrow with or without the Evo.

The story or my life is last minute on everything.  Sad

I had issues at the last event that didn't allow me to finish. I suspected rod knock but after heavy investigation it turned out to be the  flywheel bolts. All seven bolts had stretched, come loose and destroyed them selves. So $24 worth of bolts later and a transmission job should have got me back up and running for the race tomorrow but fate had diffrent plans. I ordered the bolts last Sunday night and followed up Monday morning to ensure they would be next day shipped. Today is Saturday and they have officially been marked as lost in shipping and I'm sitting here like a sad puppy.

Great event and was a particularly challenging course for me. I wish I wouldn't have let it beat me down cause one good run would have still placed me pretty decently but I just couldn't land it.

Also amongst the jokes I don't think I ever said it, but great course Gunny. Was a damn good challenge and I definitely took something home with me from it.

It was a great event, I really enjoyed the unique course design and I felt that it really focused on some challenging aspects that are not always able to get covered in the traditional course build at RIR. I did find it to be a great deal more challenging then i first interpreted but i kept focusing on the perfect braking scenario and recovering from the speed break downs and some how managed to land it all just right on my last run.

Best run...

P.S: Like always, special thanks to everyone who took pictures and posted them up. Its absolutely awesome and we really appreciate it.

The only options available were the three day event or the half priced one day event on Monday.

As for the novice stuff I'm more worried about how tight of a leash ill be on. I really want to open up on the throttle a bit and see what I can do. I knows there's a bunch of rules and protocols to be learned which is cool but I have a need for speed that must be appeased.   Tongue

I also can't use the A6s and I don't have any speed complaint street tires so still need to find some tires before I can even attend the event. Gotta figure something out...

It was $400 for Sat, Sun on the short course plus Mon on the full course and $200 if you only do Monday on the full course.

I don't know how it all works so I very hesitantly signed up for Green Group Novice which to be honest hurt my ego a little bit. I hope I don't regret my selection and I kind of wish i would have got some second opinions before doing so. We shall see...

If you have zero ounces of fear, any and every car is fun.  Tongue

I just want to shout violently about how I broke a wheel stud Sunday and I'm not looking forward to fixing it here in a immediate future. I also need to tighten the grip on a front coil spring, and do some minor tuning adjustments to stabilize my boost levels a little bit and maybe work on the launch maps some more.

There never fails to be a small list of stuff that needs to be done before the next event.

Thank you sir. It says something about non-members not being able to sign up till the last few days and there will be NO walk up registration.

Anyone able to post a link to the sign up? It's a little difficult to find on this phone.

I didn't have my head in the game but still had fun and am happy with the results. I definitely left a couple of seconds out there on the course though.  Sad

When i get some pictures and external footage I'm going to revamp the video but until then heres what i got.

The funny thing i would like to note... every time i came around the first round about my eyes wanted me to go straight and even when i go back and watch the video's I'm still trying to go straight as the camera swings unexpectedly left to head for the triple cones. Giving me an odd feeling every time I review it.

How the hell did I miss read that... if not for the headers back stuff it would be GS. If you where in Street Touring you would be in STC which is only determined in the book as reference to your aspiration and engine size.

So with headers that puts you in street prepared which is FSP in your case.

The Impreza 2.5 RS is a odd one because its all over the place in the classing book.

Crazy stuff...

Little odd how all the Corvettes got down graded. Is there some global conspiracy i don't know of that involves little ninja gremlins removing one of the eight pistons or something? lol

^ Love it, the only thing that could have made it better is if you would have hit a cone and got a penalty. lol

My.go pro did.t charge the night before so only got the three runs recorded and only thanks to Gunny letting me barrow his camera.

Was a good day and I left some time out on the course but no worries, ill find it again next time. Muhahaha

Was considering Verona just for fun, but I'm still on the fence with it.

I always love the pictures, many thanks!

I would like to note that in the pictures the world around my car looks blurry. It must just be the aura of awesomeness, lol.
