#2 is the Daimond, not much bigger than RIR
#5 is VMP, no wonder it is more fun there!

179  Events / Autocross / Hmm, what class would this car be in? on: January 05, 2008, 09:43:52 AM
Guess this would solve the look ahead problem in one direction but a challenge in the other

185  Events / Autocross / Kart Coverage on: November 05, 2007, 09:00:39 AM
Our insurance carrier advises SCCA approved Karts are covered (essentially anything SCCA approved) as long as the driver is over 16.

If 16 or younger they can be covered but requires an additional endorsement on the insurance policy.

I assume the driver is over 16?

191  General / Classifieds / Trackvision Sync on: June 28, 2007, 06:19:08 AM
I go into the gtech csv file and delete rows up to the point where I just start to accelerate (longitude G's start climbing) and then match that to the hood lift on the video. you can mess with the little sliders at the bottom of the screen to dial them in - I have been able to get pretty close on all mine, but it takes some time
192  General / Classifieds / Trackvision Sync on: June 27, 2007, 04:05:25 PM
Actually the GTech data is pretty easy to sync with video, google trackvision.

I use it regularly to sync the two - the only downside is no track map. You have to check their forum for the software to do the GTech conversion but thats a one time event, then you're set

Targeted new device is MaxQData taht will allow me to see data between runs more clearly instead of getting home and seeing where I wimped out in a corner or slalhom.

Well taken care of GTech Pro performance meter with all the software and accessories

Always babied and never taken above 1.2G

This model will do both road race and autocross

Interfaces with PC so you can compare runs and do analysis

Also missing Phase I school tomorrow
196  Events / Autocross / I think the minutes seconds issue is software on: March 28, 2007, 07:39:29 PM
Did some digging on AxWare and timer and think this issue might be a software setup rather than hardware

See attached file and fire up the pc and see if that little option happens to be checked

If it is bet it was caused by early daylight savings time change  -   NOT   :ouch:

197  Events / Autocross / Membership Dues and Permanent Numbers on: March 14, 2007, 08:47:41 PM
For those who have not returned their membership renewal cards, please bring them to Sunday's event.
And if you have a permanent number and have not sent that payment in, bring some extra cash for that too
198  General / Open Forum / GTech on: March 14, 2007, 08:39:59 PM
I have the GTech and use it regularly and have had no issues
After the events I compare each run against my best and can see where I messed up the slower runs. The traction circles give a good overview of where you are pushing the car to.
I also use mapmaker to do the track maps and have reasonable success.
And my final analysis step is to use TrackVision to add the GTech data onto the in-car videos.
With all that analysis it is painfully obvious where I screw up and shows the particular things I need to focus on (i.e. coasting into turns, too slow in right hand sweepers)
I thing the combination of all this has helped me get better
Normal techy stuff for us engineer types I guess!!

199  Events / Other Events / Dyno Day Results on: March 10, 2007, 06:44:56 PM
Coupe was too smart to go to 7,800 redline on the dyno - it thought I was doing a burnout with the front tires not turning and the rears at 142MPH so it shuts down early to avoid overheating

Good flat torque curve and not bad HP from a 3.2L inline 6

200  General / Open Forum / Nope, sorry not me?? on: January 11, 2007, 05:57:31 PM
Sorry I couldn't help - most of the stuff I sell is electronic based, lots of pieces parts that I have acquired that I no longer need. But not an Amsoil dealer
