1  General / Classifieds / Toyo RR's, 205-50/15 on: November 29, 2017, 02:48:31 PM
I have a set of 4 RR's with lots of life left. 2017 build dates. Good even wear. I paid $200 for them a few months ago and never even mounted them. I'd like to get $150 for the set from someone that can put them to good use.

There's a picture of one in this album.

I have miata hubstands. We could work something out if you still need them.

I understand completely. Appreciate the thought.
5  General / Open Forum / Is anyone going to nationals that might not mind considering doing a little favo on: August 18, 2016, 05:46:58 PM
I have spoken with a representative at koni who tells me that if I get someone else to bring my shocks to the koni tent at nationals that I could have them revalved at the special event pricing. Is anyone going to Lincoln who would not mind carrying along two shocks and dropping them off and picking them up from the koni tent during the week? I will of course be including cash to purchase the services from Koni and I will compensate you however you prefer whether it be cash, vmsc entry fee, a car to co-drive when yours is down, and/or you just want to put a favor on standby for when you need it! Name it.
I will of course deliver the shocks to you before you leave and pick them up after, causing you as little trouble as possible.

sold
7  General / Classifieds / 195 R1R's for sale on: October 01, 2013, 07:01:59 PM
I'm not going to be able to race for about a year or so, I may be back to it around August of '14, due to starting a new job that has a very intense 9 month training program that just won't allow it. So I find myself with a set of 195-50-15 Toyo R1R's that still have the better half of their life left that would only sit in my garage until worthless if I didn't find someone else to take them from me. They're still on the wheels but I can have them removed in time for pick up if you give me a day or two in advance.

I'd say $125 would be a pretty good deal for the set of 4. they'll finish you out this season for sure and if you keep them inside over the winter, they'll get you a good bit of the way into next season as well.

it's tough seeing that happen after all that work we've seen you put into it before! i hope it gets back up and going without too much fuss.
9  General / Open Forum / Re: Is anyone in the club set up to make suspension bushings? on: July 18, 2013, 07:38:03 PM
well fitting tight would be nice, so i'll shoot for around .013 over and see what happens. thanks for the advice.

now the trick is getting a measurement that good of the hole it's going in...
10  General / Open Forum / Re: Is anyone in the club set up to make suspension bushings? on: July 17, 2013, 07:46:26 PM
when milling them, how tight do you make them? exactly the same O.D. as the I.D. of the hole you're putting them in? or you add 0.05" or something?
11  General / Open Forum / Re: Is anyone in the club set up to make suspension bushings? on: July 17, 2013, 06:21:59 PM
yeah for sure. my plan so far is to drill through the control arms a few times and put some type of screw i there to hold them fixed. the parts sold (for $120!) come with zerk fittings for that, so i figure it may work.

but you're saying that i might be able to find bushings made to the diameter i need with no center hole drilled? that would be a nice find
12  General / Open Forum / Re: Is anyone in the club set up to make suspension bushings? on: July 17, 2013, 09:42:16 AM
nice. thank you. i am actually doing off set bushings for the outer link of the rear LCA's in my NA miata. i can't get less than 2* of camber now that i've got the ride height down to a reasonable level.

the bolts will be metric, but i measured the one to be just about exactly 3/8" around o the threads. if it didn't fit i wouldn't have trouble getting it honed or drilled out i don't believe. i'll see what i can do.

question though: is it really necessary to turn those shoulders on the outside edges of the bushings, or could i just make a washer out of a bigger piece of delrin to serve the purpose of keeping the sleeve centered?
13  General / Open Forum / Re: Is anyone in the club set up to make suspension bushings? on: July 15, 2013, 04:56:14 PM
thanks for the response. the problem i'm having now is finding appropriately length inner sleeves. i need them to be 1 9/16 long with a 3/8 I.D. can't find those. i may have to find a material that i can cut. i'm decently outfitted but i'm no machine shop.
14  General / Open Forum / Is anyone in the club set up to make suspension bushings? on: July 14, 2013, 10:28:51 AM
I need a couple offset bushings and the vendors want rediculous $$ for them. If anyone has some delrin scraps or anything around and has ever done it before or even just give me some advice, i'd appreciate it
15  General / Classifieds / Re: WTB: NA miata coilover sleeves and collars for konis on: June 14, 2013, 06:29:19 AM
Yeah 2.5" i. D.  It's fairly common. I'll see when my sleeves come in if i can fit a 2.25
16  General / Classifieds / Re: WTB: NA miata coilover sleeves and collars for konis on: June 13, 2013, 08:00:26 PM
hey i got most of what i need, but i still need some 300-350 lb (lower end of that spectrum preferably) 2.5" x 7-8" springs. have any of those laying around?
17  Events / Other Events / Re: TSCC Track Attack on: June 12, 2013, 06:15:43 PM
tempting... i may go out there on the all season street tires just to see what it's like. i wonder how many runs you'd get if you went just one day?

tough break on that cone cris! looks like it was at 0:42 though.
19  Pictures and Media / Pictures and Media from Events / Re: Pics and videos for June 9 autox on: June 10, 2013, 03:43:13 PM
it's all good. it would be cool to be able to see certain specs on your competitors but it's not so easy!
all street touring classes have minimum treadwear requirements of 140 or 200 though. those are street tires, for future reference.

good video too.
20  Pictures and Media / Pictures and Media from Events / Re: Pics and videos for June 9 autox on: June 10, 2013, 01:48:24 PM
you're pretty off on your evaluation of the tires everyone was running. ^^

STS runs street tires too. so do some of the other cars that were in classes that allowed for slicks.

also, Sam Banks, number 126, should be in STS N. not real important if you can't do it just because i'm telling you. he won't email about it though.

or at least files #198, 387, and 60. they don't need to be high res or anything though.

My shocks are 42 mm. Do you have anything that would fit those?
