5  General / Classifieds / FS: 1999-2005 Miata Suspension & Tire Setup on: December 15, 2014, 04:19:40 PM
I am selling my great suspension setup for anyone wanting to run in ES next year.

Shocks are Bilstiens from a 2005 Mazdaspeed Miata, custom valved by Fat Cat Motorsports with MSM springs. Each shock cost $275.00 for the re-valve which was done eariler this year, so there is plenty of life in this suspension! I can provide documents to verify these shocks are genuine.

VMSC price: $800

If you're classing a stock 2008 Covette in, say 'HS', when we all know the car should, and is in fact in 'AS', it WILL get moved, no exceptions. I've seen a lot of misclassing happen like this, esp. with newbies and such.

Like this last event, the 05 Mazdaspeed Miata was classed in SM: as per definition, it CANNOT be in SM, it has to go to SSM. (I need to start posting my corrections, hopefully we can review everything at the end of the season).

But if a car's classing is a fine line, and could go either way, I'm sure to either: ask someone in the club, contact the driver, or just leave it alone. 9 out of 10 times, it doesn't make much of a difference.
9  General / Open Forum / Re: PAX Time FAQ's on: July 16, 2014, 04:18:52 AM

I was thinking more about the Civic delSol in SSM......  Shocked

If someone makes the mistake, esp. obvious mistake of misclassing their car, I'll be sure to correct it in the overall stats. (I'm putting that Del Sol in SMF btw)

Well, perhaps having a "exotics" trophy will encourage owners of their Ferrari's, or whatever, to drive their cars more! You, sir, are doing it right imo. Wink
13  Results / Autocross / Re: Mid-Year (Unofficial) 2014 Season Standings on: July 02, 2014, 07:26:21 AM
At least I have a shot at a manufacturer title, or does there have to be more than one to qualify?
I assume by your avatar that you have the yellow 355. At this time, I do not think there is a Ferrari trophy, but if there were, I think we could group it together as the "exotics" trophy, which could include:

Ferrari
Lotus
Lamborghini
Maserati
Panoz
Noble
etc etc etc..

Most of these car seldom ever make a appearance at a AutoX though (except Lotus?)
14  Results / Autocross / Re: Mid-Year (Unofficial) 2014 Season Standings on: June 25, 2014, 08:49:59 AM
All of these points are used for trophies at the end of the season. There are a few ways to trophy:

Top 5 Street
Top 5 Street Mod.
Top 5 Modified
and Marquis trophies for the most speed points driven in a certain brand of car.

The stats that I am showing here are for overall points. The number of trophies for overall points will be determined at the end of the season, and members get to take advantage of this.

Attached is the adjusted results which corrects the mix up with ESP and DSP.

Also, Ron Listo (#347--Factory Five Cobra) signed up in X/P and somehow ended up in SSP.

I will correct this in the official point standing, as well as Tom Bryant, who ran the 07 Ford Mustang in ASP, not the 96 Corvette is AS. Thanks for pointing these out!
19  Results / Autocross / Re: Results 4-13-14 on: April 14, 2014, 01:20:10 PM
Thank you all for a great course and a great day overall; I know I had a great time! This isn't a big deal, but I noticed on the results, under the 'esp' category, it is labeled as 'd street prepared' and dsp is labeled as 'e street prepared'. Again, not a big deal, just something that I noticed.

I think you're right, the PAX for DSP did not line up with what I have when I put the totals in. All this will be corrected. Thanks!
20  Results / Autocross / Re: Results 4-13-14 on: April 14, 2014, 01:18:48 PM
Why was i placed into the STC class? According to the SCCA solo rulebook you have in the the downloads sections page 193, a Golf with 2.5 motor which from 06 to 09 was badged as a rabbit is in STF? Not that it makes a huge difference on a 1 race deal but across a whole season could make a significant difference.

I will correct this in the official point standing. Thanks!

After the correction, you go from #34 to #20 in the standings, PAX makes a big difference.

23  Events / Autocross / Re: Class question for Sunday HS to GS, GS guys and Gals ok with that? on: March 25, 2014, 04:34:28 AM
Definitely take advantage of HS, having others in your same class is actually irrelevant in my opinion. PAX is designed to best display driver ability and car setup relative to the car and modifications one has. In that way, your Forester is no different than a fully prepped Viper, or something like it, thanks to PAX.

See ya this weekend!

Sounds great! As a matter of fact, I know of another guy joining the team who already has a Miata Chumpcar with a couple of races on it, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have 2 of the same car! I will definitely run this by the group during our first meeting next week. Thanks!
