Old dyno thread in the results has a new SS camaro and my 04 z06 charts.

Thanks you sir! What mods do you have? I just made 379hp and 358tq with a full bolt on tuned ls6 on the same dyno so just wondering where you get your extra torque, yours is stronger across the board as well a dozen more up top. Here's what mine looks like compared to the old ls1. LS6 torque line is faded but around 325 at 3k.

Good times!
my car had lots of wheel spin (old nasty tires)
anyhow a little stickem and my last pull
375.71 hp and 373.39 tq

cant remember if I had the Borla's on two years ago but then it was 361hp
only thing I changed from then to now is the sparkplugs (champion to ngk) and put k&n filters back on.

Gunny

Gunny would you mind posting your sheet? I'm curious about the curve and would like to compare. Thanks!

There is always an option to recycle your tyres.

Cheers
Engelbert

Ha yea cause my wife would go for that! She is already mad there are so many tires in the garage, no way they are going in the yard. BTW those Hoosiers you got there still have the grooves, isn't it too soon to retire them or are they dried out?

Please someone take these so I don't have to toss them!

Can anybody use these? I'd hate for them to get hard and they are just taking up space anyway. Trade them for a hot meal?
31  General / Open Forum / Re: Oil Changes on: March 31, 2015, 05:13:11 PM
I get UOA done at Blackstone as well and I've probably spent a couple hundred over the years with different vehicles but well worth it. I have found how long each vehicle lasts with different oil types and can fine tune the interval.

Some things I've found-the VQ35 in the G35 lasts about 5k with M1 and 10k with redline, the LS1 goes around 7-8k with redline and slightly less with M1, and the 1FZ in the Toyota doesn't get enough miles, I just change it about once a year but it takes any cheap oil with a smile.

These are used but have even wear, about half tread left and "D W S" still visible on both. PM me your email for pics.

$50 each OBO
33  General / Technical Help / Re: Car scales and corner weight? on: March 04, 2015, 10:12:41 PM
Seems like it would go faster if we just had ramps. Drive your car on, get the weights, get off and go make your adjustments and come back while others are getting their weights. Unless someone has the ability to adjust as it sits, too much time would be spent tweaking and going up and down.

This is a good point.  Maybe someone will build me some ramps Smiley  Hopefully it dries out and warms up soon so I can get the garage wrapped up.

give me the dimensions of your scales and I'll figure something out.

I'm in no hurry, need to sort a few things so whenever you get to it, I'm in! Too cold to be hanging around outside now anyway.
36  General / Technical Help / Re: Car scales and corner weight? on: January 22, 2015, 08:10:08 AM
Thanks David, I'll contact him and see. That also might be more than I need. I like the idea of a corner balance party though, it would be cool to hang and learn while others are doing their cars. Many hands would make light work for something like that too. It seems like it could be time consuming though, not sure how many cars can get done in a day.
37  General / Technical Help / Car scales and corner weight? on: January 21, 2015, 02:48:29 PM
Just wondering if anyone has 4 corner scales or know where some are available to use cheap. I called PAS and they do a full race balance and alignment for about a grand. I'm sure they do a great job but a little more than I need, just looking for a decent shade tree balance.

I'm in as long as the price isn't too crazy.
39  General / Autos and Autosport / Dominion Raceway on: January 09, 2015, 05:32:23 PM
Has anyone looked in to getting a track day at Dominion Raceway? They are taking reservations and supposed to be open in spring. The course is two miles and 14 turns, sounds like fun.

I wish this would have happened years ago! I live ten minutes from there and am trying to move away soon.
41  General / Technical Help / Re: E46 M3 recall and fix classing question... on: April 15, 2014, 04:51:34 AM
Ha good one Chris! The miata will dominate at the AX but I'd still be embarassed to drive it around town. (not bashing anyone, just sayin!)

Thats is a good reason to avoid the M3, I'm leaning towards an Infiniti G35 coupe manual now, cheaper to buy, own and no frame issues!

42  General / Technical Help / E46 M3 recall and fix classing question... on: April 09, 2014, 06:46:10 AM
I am thinking of buying an E46 M3 but they have a bad problem with the subframe cracking in which there was a recall for, but only a small window to get it repaired. If I get one, obvously i plan to run it hard but I want to stay in the stock class but chassis bracing bumps it to prepped. I done a lot of searching but it still seems to be a grey area. I'll never go to nationals nor will probably win the top spot to where it would be contestable anyways, but I just dont want to be trying hide anything.

Thanks for any input!

That's what I was looking for, thanks!
44  General / Autos and Autosport / 2014 stock cars by class?? on: March 22, 2014, 05:07:16 PM
Does anyone know where to find the the stock car classing for this year? I've searched but all I can find is talk about the tires and other rule changes. I'm decent what my next car is going to be and the class it will be makes a difference!
45  Results / Autocross / Re: Season Results? on: February 26, 2014, 11:50:44 AM
I noticed a blank 5th spot under "modified" class. Does that mean if one more person that was in that class would have shown up they would have a trophy just for being there?
46  Events / Other Events / Re: Dyno Day on: January 25, 2014, 01:54:55 PM
Beth: That dyno is only for 2WD cars just so you know. I don't think the Carrera 4 will work.

You are quite correct.  I am an idiot (who should wait until fully awake before posting on forums).

An enthusiastic idiot, however.   Grin
Maybe I should bring the Passport......

Can you lock the center diff and pull the front driveshafts?

Thinking about doing that on my Land Cruiser and see if I can put down 100!
47  Events / Other Events / Re: Drag strip - 10/25/2013? on: October 29, 2013, 11:46:57 AM
Wish I had checked first, drove down there for nothing. Too cold? And they decided the day of? Sounds like a weak excuse.
48  General / Autos and Autosport / Re: SCCA approves new Stock class rules on: October 12, 2013, 08:30:30 AM
So Bill, does this mark the end of the f-stock terror!?
I wonder how long before Hoosier, Kumho, and the rest develop a "purpose built" 140, or 200 UTQG tire for competition. I've thought for years SCCA should let us run on anything you can mount on stock wheels. R-comps, racing tires, snow tires, whatever floats your boat. I'll figure out the tires when I figure out what I'm going to drive.
49  Events / Other Events / Re: Drag strip - 10/25/2013? on: October 10, 2013, 04:37:17 PM
I was thinking about checking it out. Its been a while and I got a buddy that might go too.
50  General / Technical Help / Re: Brake Rotors on: June 06, 2013, 07:09:12 AM
Hey Gunny, most of the guys on the racing forums (either with Vettes or F bodies with Vette brakes) are running Brembo blanks or Raybestos. I've been using Napa premium for several years and almost 60K miles, no racing just AX and lots of street miles.

Rock Auto has a ton of options including some AC delco's for $40 a piece, if you're going cheap, might as well get something better than AZ!
