4  General / Classifieds / G Force 5 point harness pair on: July 27, 2016, 03:17:54 AM
Red G Force harnesses with eyelet and plate for floor. I forget the date but definitely too old for competition, still good for AX. $50

5  General / Autos and Autosport / Re: Dominion Raceway on: July 27, 2016, 03:15:08 AM
Me too. I emailed SCCA and I guess the runoff is the issue. They said it is more of a pro setup and not enough for novices that will likely go off course. The DC SCCA will still have PDX weekends there plus the NASA events so all is not lost!
6  General / Autos and Autosport / Re: Dominion Raceway on: July 26, 2016, 04:24:02 AM
Well so much for DR, it looks like SCCA cancelled all "Track night in America" events. Sounds like there was a falling out, not just the schedule delay. Here is the email they sent:

Track Night participants,

As you may be aware, there has been a significant amount of work and effort put into potential Track Night events at Dominion Raceway in Northern Virginia. Despite those efforts, SCCA Track Night in America has made the decision not to hold events at Dominion Raceway in the foreseeable future.

While the track has made great strides to accommodate groups like Track Night, the current configuration of the track itself is inconsistent with the philosophy and needs of Track Night.  For those of you who are interested in learning and experiencing the track, we recommend the Performance Driving Experience program offered by the Washington DC Region.
7  General / Technical Help / Re: Car scales and corner weight? on: May 10, 2016, 04:32:26 AM
I was unable to make it down Saturday, any chance of another weigh in day?
8  General / Classifieds / Re: WTB tire trailer on: April 21, 2016, 03:57:13 AM
Just make sure you reinforce that tongue. Just the bolts through thin sheet metal isn't much to hold the lateral loads without any triangulation.
9  General / Classifieds / Re: WTB tire trailer on: April 18, 2016, 03:27:44 AM
That looks the same as the Harbor Freight trailer which half that price when its on sale and you use the 20% off coupon. You should reinforce the tongue  and all of the joints, there are horror stories on forums about them coming apart. I welded all the joints and used 1" square tube to triangulate the tongue on the two cross bars that it connects to. One of the Vette guys had his rip off on the highway, luckily it went in the ditch instead of another car.

Four events scheduled this year for SCCA's Track night in America!

11  General / Technical Help / Re: Car scales and corner weight? on: April 03, 2016, 05:10:22 AM
The scale pads are ~2 5/8" tall with a 15"x15" footprint.
12  General / Technical Help / Re: Car scales and corner weight? on: April 02, 2016, 06:19:05 AM
Wow its been a year already, where'd the time go!? I'm still willing to build some ramps for this. Should be easy just stacked and staggered plywood about 20" long overall and as wide as the scale,  1/2" sheets staggered every 4" going up to the scale.

If we set up a station to pull cars up to, the rear scales and ramps can be slid out, pull car up to front scales and align them, slid in rear scales and ramps, weigh car, roll off, slide out rear scales, move car, rinse, repeat. Of course like you said, finding a flat level surface is the hard part.

Are there results or media from the Saturday practice?
15  Events / Autocross / Re: Practice in July and August on: June 24, 2015, 04:15:06 PM

Our webmaster is useless.  What can I say.

Fixed now.  Thanks for mentioning it, and sorry for the confusion.

Oh give her a break, I'm sure she's trying real hard!
16  Events / Autocross / Re: Practice in July and August on: June 23, 2015, 07:52:13 PM
Oh that sucks, I thought I was going to have a short drive, glad I saw this I would have been all alone at MEP!
17  General / Open Forum / Re: Looking for your next autox car?? on: May 18, 2015, 09:41:54 AM
Cool site, thanks for sharing. It would be fun to get an R32 to mess around with but it would be confusing to go back and forth left to right hand drive!
18  Events / Other Events / Re: Dyno Day 2015 on: May 01, 2015, 05:38:56 PM
Looks like next year will be at Steve's shop. He left PAS with the dyno and some techs. I think the PAS owner isn't going to work on cars anymore.
19  Events / Other Events / Re: Dyno Day 2015 on: April 25, 2015, 05:01:13 PM
Old dyno thread in the results has a new SS camaro and my 04 z06 charts.

Thanks you sir! What mods do you have? I just made 379hp and 358tq with a full bolt on tuned ls6 on the same dyno so just wondering where you get your extra torque, yours is stronger across the board as well a dozen more up top. Here's what mine looks like compared to the old ls1. LS6 torque line is faded but around 325 at 3k.
20  Events / Other Events / Re: Dyno Day 2015 on: April 20, 2015, 04:00:26 PM
Good times!
my car had lots of wheel spin (old nasty tires)
anyhow a little stickem and my last pull
375.71 hp and 373.39 tq

cant remember if I had the Borla's on two years ago but then it was 361hp
only thing I changed from then to now is the sparkplugs (champion to ngk) and put k&n filters back on.

Gunny would you mind posting your sheet? I'm curious about the curve and would like to compare. Thanks!

There is always an option to recycle your tyres.

Ha yea cause my wife would go for that! She is already mad there are so many tires in the garage, no way they are going in the yard. BTW those Hoosiers you got there still have the grooves, isn't it too soon to retire them or are they dried out?

Please someone take these so I don't have to toss them!
23  General / Classifieds / Re: Continental DWS tires, one 295-35-18, one 275-40-17 used on: March 31, 2015, 05:15:28 PM
Can anybody use these? I'd hate for them to get hard and they are just taking up space anyway. Trade them for a hot meal?
24  General / Open Forum / Re: Oil Changes on: March 31, 2015, 05:13:11 PM
I get UOA done at Blackstone as well and I've probably spent a couple hundred over the years with different vehicles but well worth it. I have found how long each vehicle lasts with different oil types and can fine tune the interval.

Some things I've found-the VQ35 in the G35 lasts about 5k with M1 and 10k with redline, the LS1 goes around 7-8k with redline and slightly less with M1, and the 1FZ in the Toyota doesn't get enough miles, I just change it about once a year but it takes any cheap oil with a smile.

These are used but have even wear, about half tread left and "D W S" still visible on both. PM me your email for pics.

$50 each OBO
