51  General / Classifieds / Re: A long shot, but................free! on: September 01, 2016, 07:24:37 AM
It's in Chester, but the garage looks to have been built by Ray Charles and Red Green. (It was here when we bought the place in 1995, no leaks and looks pretty good). It does have 100 amp service and a wood stove. Maybe I'll burn those NG's in the stove this winter if we move back. Smiley Oh yeah, an attached single car garage, also.

Understand completely. We're trying to down size and having a heck of a time doing it. Very real chance we'll be moving back to the old house, (it seems no one wants a 5 bed, 3 bath brick house with a 3 car garage on 2 acres!), but the less stuff we have, the happier we'll be regardless.

Does anyone have any interest in some National Geographic magazines? I have a few complete sets from the '80's and '90's. And most of the issues from many other years. I may ask some of the local schools if they want them. I hate to throw them away, and giving them away on CL is such a pain.

The "newer" 4.7 was used in Dodge trucks for several years recently. It may still be in use. You're a lot better off with the older engine.

The old 273 or the newer engine?
56  General Category / Ask the Competition Committee / Re: Opinions on running by class on: July 29, 2016, 05:35:29 PM
As long as points are earned based on the index, running by class is the only fair way. The idea was to eliminate weather advantages. I ran in DC/MD way back in the 70's and 80's with TAA and they ran by class back.
57  Results / Autocross / Re: Unmarked cones..... on: July 11, 2016, 07:36:08 PM
I always marked them all, including the pointers. If for no other reason than their orientation to the cone they're pointing to. Makes it so much much easier when you're trying to set cones quickly.

During the second heat of yesterday's event, the station nearest the trailer had 2 cones knocked over by the car prior to Bernard Cooley. Two of us ran to set the cones up, (they were in the cross over "wall" of cones), before the Fiat got that section, only to discover there were no boxes to indicate where they came from. Plenty of time to set them up had there been a spot marked for them, but Bernard had to be red flagged. We placed them where we THOUGHT they came from. Another cone was hit later and it, too had no box. Again, it was placed where our collective memories thought it came from. I marked the three cones after that heat, but remember, if you place a cone on the course, please mark it as well.

When Alexander Bell invented the telephone, he had three missed calls from Chuck Norris.

My forth run is missing. At 39.948 it wasn't all that fast, but got me under the 40 second mark.

Some people wear Superman pajamas.....Superman wears Chuck Norris pajamas.

I just wanted this out in the open so when my 2 student whip my butt tomorrow, you'll know it was meant to be. I think Confucius said it. Maybe Kung-Fu. Maybe I saw it in a fortune cookie.
68  General Category / Ask the Competition Committee / Re: Opinions on running by class on: April 26, 2016, 02:37:41 PM
This has been discussed at length in the past. It's the only way to take weather conditions out of the equation. Once the club went to a points system based on an index, I think it's the only fair way to run. I've run with clubs that would allow you to run outside of the heat assigned to your class, but if it gave you an advantage, your times were tossed.
69  General Category / Announcements / May not make tomorrows event...... on: April 23, 2016, 07:37:58 AM
I have a contractor that "may" show up tomorrow to finish up some work at our new house. If he does, I probably won't make the event, but I'm going to try. Sorry for the late notice, but I really need to get this done.

I love all forms of motorsports. I've always held the opinion that it's all vehicular control, straight line, corners, water, whatever. Making corrections at 200mph plus, (at Englishtown, Bonneville, or Daytona), is something most of us will never do. I'm a real sucker for the LSR stuff, personally.

Like that video. Love the 2 car split at the 2:46 mark.
72  General / Open Forum / Re: Dyno Day on: February 25, 2016, 07:24:23 AM
David, the Monza won't be there. Engine isn't ready, and if it was delivered to me today, I doubt I would have it installed in time. (ever gutted a bathroom?). Oddly, I was number 13 on the list, and that's the same number on the car. Well deserved, I might add. 666 may be a better number for it......
73  General / Classifieds / Re: 4 Nitto NT01 235/40/17 Almost NEW on: February 22, 2016, 08:00:44 AM
That's a great price on a great tire. If they were a little wider I'd buy them for my Camaro. Someone ought to snatch them up.
74  General / Open Forum / Re: Dyno Day on: February 10, 2016, 07:36:36 AM
Outside chance the Monza will be there. Many things left to do to it, and we're in the middle of moving into a new home, (what was I thinking???), so it's a long shot.

It's all fun and games until a chain comes off and wraps up a spindle. Still it's a motorsport I would watch!
