General / Open Forum / RANT: G-Force Carts

The company I work for took some time off yesterday afternoon and we all (3) went to G-Force. The two guys working the counter were helpful and knowledgeable about the operation. They were able to answer just about any question we had. I don't know if the weekend crew is less friendly but these guys were pretty good and convinced us to all get memberships.
Maybe VMSC could have a semi-annual G-Force night? Maybe a pre-season warm-up...just a thought.

Events / Road Rally / Great Race Style Rally
|
on: September 20, 2006, 10:45:40 AM
|
|
Taken from the Virginia Rally News dated Sept 19th:
SCCA has announced a partnership with the Great Race Rally Partners and will be promoting Great Race style regional rallies. The GR style involves no odometer and no calculations. GPS is not allowed; stock odometers are taped over. You're allowed only a speedometer and a watch - as many watches as you want, however. Cars are unlimited in regional events but model year restrictions exist for the National event and for the forthcoming Around-the- World Great Race.

Have you tried looking in the classified section of miata.net? There is a set of 15" wheels listed in Reston, VA.
Also try the Richmond Craig's List.

General / Technical Help / Tires, heat cycling
|
on: April 24, 2006, 02:04:34 PM
|
|
After this last weekend's event I realize that my next purchase should be tires. This is my first season autocrossing and I will be running the stock wheels on my '94 Miata.
What tires would you recommend to a novice?
Is there a shop in the Richmond area that will heat cycle the tires for me? If not, how do I do it myself?
Thanks, Grant
