Hello everyone just wanted to start a thread about our build for the upcoming autocross season. Its a 79 corolla with a 318 chrysler v8. It has a rearend from a 98 chevy s10 blazer. The transmission is an NP2500 from a 92 dodge dakota. Here are some pictures of the build so far and you can follow the build on instagram @tehmisfit.

So a little change of plans. The 273 that we had had a weak spot in the timing cover. Now we have oil and water slurry in the engine. So we went and got a 1977 Chrysler 318 to put in it. The rear end is in and the front bits are painted. All we need now is a NV3500 5 speed and it should be moving under its own power.

What we have is a 1979 Toyota corolla 2 door that we are keeping the same. We have installed a 1977 318 mopar engine with 5 speed trans. The rear end is swapped to one from a 1990 s10 . we have stripped the car and are only keeping the seats and dash. We did have to modified the firewall a little to fit the larger engine and transmission. As for the frame we are keeping it the way it is.

Thanks for the information. The car we are building is classed as E Modified and the rules say "The roll bar structure must meet the requirements of either Appendix C or the Club Racing GCR required by class rules. Roll cages are strongly recommended". Not sure if that means we need one or if im reading the rules wrong. Im assuming we just need the roll bar?

Hello everyone
I've been looking at the rules and realized we needed a roll bar or cage for our build and was wondering if anybody new of a shop or anybody we can talk to about getting it done. I have found a full cage that bolts in but we don't have the funds to purchase it. Its a 1979 Toyota corolla 2 door.
Thanks again

Im not sure what your asking. The engine we put into the corolla is from a 1965 Plymouth valiant.

Thanks
I'll look into the safety rules for both classes. Were trying to come out for the September 4 event. If nothing else just to get information on what we need to do to get the car ready for next season.

The car is unchanged but we had to cut the transmission tunnel out. The firewall is is not moved back any.
Its a 1979 corolla base with a Chrysler 273 4.7L V8 to a 3 speed auto.
Rear end will be replaced with one from a Chevy s-10 with camaro shocks.
Aftermarket radiator, rims, and tires
Headers to a duel exhaust to the back of the car.
The engine is rebuild but stock no cam or bigger heads.

The interior is stripped except for the front seats and dash.

Hello I have a 1979 Toyota corolla that we have installed a Chrysler 273 v8 into. We are making it street legal and are running street approved race tires. I was wondering what class it might fall under?
