1  General / Classifieds / Keep an eye out for an E36 for me? on: September 04, 2018, 07:38:14 PM
Yes, I have been looking for an E36, preferably 96-99, as a swap car.  Roller, good body, electrical, and no rust.  Thanks.

The 2018 Mid-Year SPEED points standings should be up on the VMSC website soon.  I just sent it to Engelbert.

4  General / Open Forum / IMSA races at VIR this weekend on: August 17, 2018, 03:11:53 PM
Beth and I are driving down to VIR tomorrow for the IMSA races.  We have a back seat open if anyone would like to share a ride.

She can't go on Sunday but I will be driving down and back with three seats open.  Give me a shout if you'd like to go along and see some awesome racing at VIR.

Rick and Bill, is it your desire to classify in Masters for the entire season?  If so, let me know.

6  General / Technical Help / Re: HID headlight repairs...learning curve on: January 28, 2018, 08:33:38 PM
Well now that I've installed them I must say they are basically plug-and-play.  Not bad at all for $89 and guaranteed for life.

German engineering is ALWAYS overdone.

Yes, those brands are a known quality.  I bought a HID set with bulb and ballast from the only outfit that provided a lifetime guarantee.  The ballast are German made.

8  General / Technical Help / HID headlight repairs...learning curve on: January 19, 2018, 09:07:39 PM
One of the HID's was out on Beth's M3 so I went to investigate.  I know NOTHING about HID lights so I have to go thru the learning curve.  There sure is a lot of cheap parts out there, probably poor quality too.

Does anyone have a good experience with a particular brand?

Glad that you made it home ok.  I figured that Marc's 'spare' would get you there.

Also glad that the TireRack warranty thing worked well.  Good to know.
11  General / Autos and Autosport / Re: Dominion Raceway on: July 28, 2016, 03:59:44 AM
What I don't understand is the track was designed by Chris of NASA.  Did he not run the design by anyone else to see if it would pass safety?

>SCCA Track Night in America has made the decision not to hold events at Dominion Raceway in the >foreseeable future.

>While the track has made great strides to accommodate groups like Track Night, the current configuration of the track itself is inconsistent with the philosophy and needs of Track Night.  [/i][/quote]

Gunny is right about the big track.  It is a BLAST.

The track days are so much fun!
Autocross is cool to but to unleash 400hp down the front straight at VIR is soooooo much fun! and then to trust the brakes into turn one! Awesome, makes me shake.
