How did numbers 0 and 150 get times, weren't those the two who did not show up to work their station? Is there some penalty for not working...if we all did that there would be no AXing?
It's true, there is a lot of people that do a lot of extra work so everybody can have fun, unless they come up with a great excuse I would say ban these people for the rest of the season. Of course this is a club with members and board and I am sure the board will talk about that and make the right decision whatever that would be.

This will be brought up in the board meeting. We just don't want to jump to any conclusions.

We are very accommodating and can find a way for anyone to do their work assignment. Please just ask beforehand.

We also have 80+ year old people standing out in the sun and the ODs are there from 7-6 sometimes the day before too!

Please don't get my intentions wrong Smiley. This organization continues to impress me time and time again, that is why I am a member!! And I know there are always things out of our control.....trust me I have three little ones (6/4/2 lots of unexpected things happen in my life)....but in that case I would pull a board member aside plea my case and make arrangements to make it up to the club.  There are also folks that have put years into VMSC and at times deserve an exception, especially our elders!! But flat out just not showing up is wrong.. I agree that the board will make the right decision!

If we got to vote.....I would say if you don't work your station then you don't get times and don't get to participate in the next three events. That might motivate some folks!

58  General / Open Forum / Re: flat tire on: May 30, 2015, 06:40:34 PM
That sucks.  You might want to post what type of tire/size it is.  If it is the Miata.....someone has got to have one of those lying around. As for the car change i am not sure...but I don't think it is a huge deal.  I know that folks have changed cars in the past but don't know the circumstances.

Will PAX be applied to each element or to the cumulative score of each SoloStanced competitor?  I also heard that cord showing is going to be okay in that particular class.

"Solo Angle of Dangle" LMAO

Thanks guys for the tips! James after talking to you and seeing your response here....I definitely think the RSX had an underlying problem.  I went back and looked at my receipts, I didn't fully realize at the time but my K20 used a few times that amount in the 3 to 4 months I owned it.  Also thanks for turning me onto the oil analysis.  I had not even heard of this service.  I purchased the FRS used so an oil analysis at this point would be a valuable look into what is going on inside my engine.

Best,
MikeDe

James,
I was looking at our/my STX class and it seems the best time posted there was from a Mitsubishi EVO that is classed as a STX, I believe those cars should be classed as STU?  That would put me in the number 2 spot behind Travis ..... I got some work to do there! Thoughts?

Best regards,
MikeDe

Hello All,
What a wonderful event today, thanks to all of you that sacrifice to put these on! General question here...after coming out of the rod knocking RSX type S and moving on to the FRS...as I was driving home I began to wonder how often I should change my oil if I am autocrossing regularly? I assume I should change it accelerated intervals...what do yall suggest? Also curious about brake fluid while I am asking? Boy it was freezing this morning but we had quite the turnout!

Thx

71  Results / Autocross / Re: 2015 Schedule on: March 11, 2015, 06:37:14 PM
I couldn't add my class either but they will probably ask at the event anyway.  So no worries there.  I am really excited for this year! I sold the Rod knocking Type S just in time...and picked up a FRS last week in Maryland. Now to get tires? DZ2s or the new DZ2 star specs....I am not sure. Beth, To answer your question I will be my trusty number 25...because everything between 32 and 39 is already spoken for!!

All,
Thanks so much for all of the advice.....You all are great! During my quest for a used engine I found someone who made me an offer on the Type S that I couldn't refuse.  While losing money I didn't lose as much as it would have cost to purchase a used motor only...not including the install.  So the search continues....and this chapter is closed....Thanks again!

Bill,
Thanks for the info.  I certianly appreciate your guidance and advice.  Nowto find an engine I am comfortable with!
75  General Category / Ask the Competition Committee / Re: Rod knocking RSX type S on: February 23, 2015, 06:33:42 PM
Just an update on the car.  It seems like everyone "knows a guy" who can swap the engine.  But any reputable shop is quoting me 20 hours of labor...so that's nearly 2k without the rebuild or used engine. The going price for a used K20a2 seems to be 2.5k  So I am looking at spending 4.5k minimum on a car that's worth 7k.  This also makes me feel that I am underestimating the level of complexity here.  Some mechanics say that a rebuild is better...others that a replacement engine is the best way to go.  I am at a loss for what to do here.  I posted it on Craigslist  for sale for $ 4,700 and either way I am gonna lose 4.5k....what would you do???
