VMSCís annual Dyno Day is back on schedule this year. We are set for February 9 at FlimFlamSpeed, 2121 N. Hamilton Street - Suite E, Richmond, Va 23230. We will start at 10:00 and go until we are finished.

Additional info is available on Kevinís website or by contacting him.
804-921-5341 - shop/cell

You will pay Kevin directly. He prefers cash.

Details: 3 pulls:
Reg price - $75
1-5 cars $65
6-10 cars $60
11+ cars $55

If a car is strapped down and has any sort of mechanical issue that keeps it form performing all 3 of its runs, the price remains the same.

Order will be first come, first served, unless you make other arrangements with Kevin.

Please post here if you are coming. To help Kevin, I also need to know what you will strapping on the dyno along with any relevant mods, e.g., added a turbo or supercharger. The list will be kept on the VMSC FB page, not here.

Hope to see you there.

Such great travel. That is awesome. We were on the opposite French coast, along the Rivera. Eze and Villefranche sur Mer were our favorites. As a car guy, you need go see the Nurburgring. Go see a race, like the 24 hours of Nurburgring and/or drive the track on a tourist day. It is an unforgettable experience.

I have often heard how beautiful Bruges is. Hope to make it back to Europe in a few years.

I have been autocrossing a Scion FR-S for the last 4 years. I sold it last week to my niece, Kate, who has been my co-driver  for several years. I bought a 2011 911 last month. It is primarily for track days and to use to do the One Lap competition in 2020 with my older son, Dave. That is a bucket list item for both of us. I am doing more track days than autocrosses these days. I expect that will continue.

Again, great to hear from you.

Hi, Michael. It is great to hear from you. It is cool that you are so close to Spa. It is one of my favorite F1 races. I will watch it tomorrow afternoon since we have an autocross in the morning.

I would think that one of the cool things about being in Europe is that so many countries are a short drive, train ride, or flight. Micky and I went to Italy, France, and Monaco last Spring. We were fortunate to be able to catch the Monaco F1 race. That was definitely a bucket list item.

Hope things continue to go well. Best wishes.

7  General / Resorces, Suppliers, Vendors, Services / Re: Post Resorces, Suppliers, Vendors, Services here on: January 14, 2018, 06:07:21 PM
Delta V - - Glenn is the best for service and repairs on European cars

Wallace Automotive - - The absolute best maintenance and repair shop i have ever dealt with. They specialize in Hondas and Acuras but also work on other makes. They saved me thousands of dollars over the local, lying, unethical Acura dealer who will never again see one of my cars.

Clear Detail - - Daniel does a great job restoring paint and applying various GTechniq coatings. He can also help with installation of parts like grilles.

Capital Autobahnd - - Joe and team do a great job of installing Xpel paint protection film. They install as much or as little as you want.

We missed our annual dyno day this year when EFI Performance no longer wanted to host them.  Kevin Adolph now has his own shop and last week installed a brand new dyno. Kevin has made it clear we are always welcome at his shop.

Please respond here or on FB and let me know if you would like to have a VMSC Dyno Day in November, wait until next February, or do both. Please respond by next Wednesday, October 18.

Here is my best run in C Street.

My speed was down on the lane change as I messed up the entrance, but I must have made it up somewhere else.

You can do a hybrid HANS with a harness bar and belts on a stock seat or a standard seatbelt. You don't have to wait to get a HANs. I have a Simpson that Dave recommended.

Great project. Put a quiet muffler on it and you will have quite the sleeper.

Protest is at the first event (we will block the course), and I think that the club should give us some comfort food to help us to deal emotionally with the outcome of the vote.

ROTFL. We demand comfort food, therapy dogs, and nap pods! Everyone should get a trophy.

19  General / Open Forum / Re: Riding with your co-driver? on: March 02, 2017, 12:50:19 PM

at BRR anybody can ride along with anybody at any time. We debated this long and hard a few years ago and where we settled out was that the social / learning benefits far outweighed the competitive concerns.

Well reasoned and well stated. That would be my vote. Learning can and should take place far past any definition of novice.

20  General / Open Forum / Re: Riding with your co-driver? on: February 28, 2017, 12:53:16 PM
Isn't this what practice events are for?

My opinion, keep the rule the way it is. If you are a top 20 or so driver, you should not be riding with other good drivers at points events.

If you are new, you should/must have other experienced drivers ride with you. Any benefit at this level is far outweighed by the increase in safety. I am not going to learn much (anything) riding with a novice. But, I will learn a lot riding with a good driver.

Just my thoughts

It is the SCCA rule at national events. There are also very few, if any novices, at national events. It is not necessarily the rule at SCCA local events where there are plenty of novices. It is not the rule at BRR, for example.

21  Events / Other Events / Re: No dyno day for now on: February 27, 2017, 07:43:09 AM
I will try to rescue your disappointment later this year.

22  Events / Other Events / No dyno day for now on: February 22, 2017, 10:35:18 AM
I have been trying to schedule a dyno day for March as we have been doing for a number of years. The owner of the dyno, EFI Performance, has just done some expensive repair work on the dyno and does not want to subject it to 15-20 cars back to back for a dyno day. Kevin worked hard to get us time on the dyno, but at the end of the day he doesn't own it and therefore cannot control it.

At Kevin's suggestion, I will check back later in the year to see if anything has changed. Kevin is also looking into acquiring his own dyno. If he does, he would be happy to have us.

Sorry I could not make this happen.

Looking good!

Thanks to all who organized and attended the banquet today. It is always great to see so many of the Club members and their families at a social event.

Congrats to Jeff on his Club Championship and to all of the trophy and award winners.

Here are photos from today.

I think it is an excellent way to help a young or newer driver improve. I rode with Kate until someone complained. I would be in favor of changing the rule.
