Thanks for the quick corrections.

Thanks for bringing out your scales Justin

1990 240sx coupe OEM curb weight on Edmonds is 2684, weighing currently at 2403 and dropping.
I'm curious to see how far I can get the curb weight down now.

39  General Category / Ask the Competition Committee / Re: Opinions on running by class on: April 27, 2016, 02:51:19 PM
To be clear:
The computer decided nothing on the last event.  I go through and group the main categories (street, street touring, etc) into different heats and then balance from there.  Street was by far the largest category last event so HS and CS got shuffled out like STS got shuffled out of heat 3.

Its not perfect and I'm trying to improve my system and it will not always be fair.  Planning the heats out in advance doesn't work well with when walk-ups are able to skew the heat size.

My apologies if I sound like I'm complaining. By all means I am not, you guys do a FANTASTIC job running events and getting everyone sorted out in the heats as well as getting results out fast. We are are appreciative of that, Lord knows I couldn't do it.
40  General Category / Ask the Competition Committee / Re: Opinions on running by class on: April 26, 2016, 02:03:01 PM
I like running by class, just so I can see how I compare to the others in similar classes. For myself, I have now run in last and first heats and think that rotating classes through the heats over the entire season would be fair. Not everyone likes running first, most often heard reason is how slick the course can be from being cold, dusted with debris and lack of rubber. Not sure if those are factors after a couple of runs, but that seems to be what some say, myself included.
Anyway, I'm starting to stray from the topic. Keep the format the way it is just rotate us through the heats.

Nice run Gunny, I couldn't get lined up right for the gate after the left hand sweeper to save my life. Too fast every time.

43  General / Technical Help / Re: Car scales and corner weight? on: April 02, 2016, 09:55:45 AM
SCCA uses two 10" aluminum channels between the front and rear scales on each side. The channels slide inside each other and are marked so you can set the scales to match the wheelbase of the car. If when had 4 ramps and the channels you can run a lot of cars across the scales. Like Justin said we need to find level ground but it should be good enough to an idea of where you are at.

A laser level and a ruler and I think we got it all sorted out. I can get the floor tiles and give them who ever has the scales next autocross.
44  General / Technical Help / Re: Car scales and corner weight? on: April 01, 2016, 01:27:34 PM
I realize this thread is almost a year old, but I didn't want to start a duplicate posting regarding car scales.

Any chance of getting something set up at an autocross or test and tune for anyone that wants to know their weigh balance this season. I for one would be interested and if a modest fee was charged for time and "wear and tear" I don't think anyone would mind too much.

I have two sets of used tires from my cars if you're still looking. Four 225/50/17 General UHP and four 235/45/18 Nitto 555, three of which are on on wheels with 5x114.3 bolt pattern. Tread depth is low, but could still be good for burning up. I'm near Glenside dr and Broad st intersection, if you want to take a look send me your phone #.
