1  General / Technical Help / Engineering, Design and Fabrication Service on: July 06, 2018, 06:41:08 AM
Most of you guys know I love to build stuff.

Lately I've gotten a handful of smaller jobs that require some Engineering (math/simulation), some 2D and 3D CAD work as well as fabrication. It seems like everyone in the motorsport community often times has this same need, so I figured I'd broaden it out a bit and post here to see if any of the VMSC members had something they had been dying to do but didn't have the time, knowledge or tools.

The current "box" I'm putting myself in, is the following:

Materials:
Aluminum
Steel
Stainless

Thicknesses:
up to 3/8"

Welding services:
MIG
TIG
ARC

CAD service:
2D and 3D models, drawings and simulations

Rates:
I can price per job, or by the hour (depends heavily on what it is)

I am trying to steer away from production work as I don't have the time resource. However 1 offs and concepts, even if fabricated elsewhere, would be in the wheel house of tasks I can complete all hours of the night. Along with that emergency repairs can be arranged if the situation is needing it.

If you need help with anything, send me a note via email (inskeepwp@gmail.com) and I'll let you know what I can do & when. Current backlog runs me out to the end of August for "big" projects. But I can always sneak an hour or 2 in somewhere to handle a urgent need.

Let me know
Paul

Random stuff I've done in the last 6ish months to give you an idea of capabilities:

Aluminum intercooler and intake piping
Various roll cages/roll bars
Repairs under BMW chassis (e36 & e46)
Fender Rolling
Chassis Crack repairs on Race Car
Machined pistol slide for red dot sight
Door cards and sunroof delete
and much more

7  General / Classifieds / BMW e36/46 chassis reinforcement service on: April 10, 2017, 02:51:24 PM
If you own a e36/46 chassis car you probably know already about the tearing issues with the rear subframe/chassis when they are tracked/autocrossed. I know there are a bunch of VMSC folks that run these chassis codes, so I'll start by asking here.

Service: $1500 labor only, you pick the kit that you would like me to install. I can help you make your decision

$100 Discount for VMSC Members

Notes:
  • Painted and rubber coated after install to remove the potential of rust in the future.
  • Usually single weekend turn around, if planned correctly (Friday night to Sunday night)
  • Pick up and drop off services available
  • Options can expand to include installation of sub-frame bushings and other components that are easily accessible during this process
  • Photo documented of entire process with your car for records

Not my photos, but the issue that happens.

Here is a photo of completed service. These photos are mine.

Let's change.

I've never learned as much as I have as quickly as I had swapping seats with Justin 4-5 years ago.

I know this is last minute, but I need to find a replacement OD for Sunday's practice at VMP. If anyone is interested in earning some year-end points please email me at inskeepwp@gmail.com. There are a few details we should discuss.

Thanks
Paul

Short answer is no.

I'm assuming we are referring to the 3 wheeled sport bike looking things?

Justin, I think a pair of k20 insights would go over well here Smiley

Almost a line from "the fast and furious"

I saw the sticker on your car yesterday and was going to ask. It seems like a more streetable UTCC.

Lights on the mk2, oh man.

18  General Category / Ask the Competition Committee / Re: Help me class my build on: July 31, 2016, 04:49:26 PM
Not knowing anything else about the car and as long as the firewall isnt moved or heavily modified, X-Prepared should be fine.
19  General Category / Ask the Competition Committee / Re: Help me class my build on: July 31, 2016, 10:36:49 AM
Does it have interior?

Id start with X-Prepared.

21  Results / Autocross / Re: Unmarked cones..... on: July 11, 2016, 07:25:31 AM
Thanks Bill. This was my responsibility and I'll be sure cones back check peoples work next time I OD. I remarked several during the event just due to the marking being too light and not easily being found.

Luckily I didn't see any cones out of place by heat 3 that effected times what so ever.

Haha ... Me too Paul and especially Mindy have taught me so much over the last 2 years!!! I thought, for a moment, that I (grasshopper) had finally made my teacher proud.

I liked the results better the first time, when I was quicker than both the Inskeep brothers. LOL

Thanks for the quick corrections.

Just because of you & Mindy... I gotta start bringing out a faster car...
