at BRR anybody can ride along with anybody at any time. We debated this long and hard a few years ago and where we settled out was that the social / learning benefits far outweighed the competitive concerns.

Well reasoned and well stated. That would be my vote. Learning can and should take place far past any definition of novice.

Yea the above would be my vote also.

The place were I work has been bought and they are closing down the HQ building were I work. Anyhow maybe in the fall if PCA or NASA has a hpde.

as always nice pictures David, I was not there again so I want to congratulate everyone, Joe again was too fast for me, also was Chris. Congratulations to Mindy for wining the BMW Trophy! I learned a lot having her as my co-driver this past season. Now everyone have their eyes on the 2017 season, looks like there won't be a POS e36 this season but instead a really nice e36 M3 and it is white and hopefully a lot faster.
Now, since I am that kind of guy who values tradition(not really).
I heard that Gunny is upgrading his car to CAM-S, finally decided to quit having the cheating Street Pax, or maybe he just got tired of getting beaten by a POS e36, who knows. Maybe he should Autox the fastest Elantra known by men. (if you follow him on Facebook you know what I am talking about).
Cheers!

Ahhhh Damn! that was good and it made me laugh.. I do have the world fastest Elantra (I've be doing some testing with 305's on each corner!) and it's my secret weapon if I ever need it, kinda like a James Bond gadget... Anyhow I'm not so sure of the overall seasons results (hopefully they will be posted soon) but I do know this, you got skirted in your own car for the BMW trophy! (Way to go Mindy, high five!) Your switching cars this year but maybe you should race your mountain bike! I bet it corners real good. I'll co drive it if you want some good input.   LOL

I pretty much agree with what everyone above has said, I know as an OD I've been asked many times if someone can ride along with someone else I have always said yes (its mostly the new drivers asking). I have ridden along with alot of drivers when I first started (John, Keith, Roger, Justin, Paul, Ricardo, etc.) and learned so much on how to drive, I've also had those same people in my car while I was driving just to watch what I was doing, I was probably more of a distraction for them than a advantage. Anyhow I believe that being able to jump in someone elses car or have someone jump in your car is a good thing, I think it made that weekend experience so much better and fun for me.

If I need to show up to a meeting and to vote on this just let me know.

Thinking about doing this event with PCA
MAY 2017 HPDE at VIR

I have not done one in a while but memory tells me these fill up fast.

I got a set of RE71R's for the Vette, Last two seasons I ran the re71's up front and the RS3's on the rear
the RS3's lost alot of grip about mid season last year so I'm hoping the re71's all the way around will be make a big difference. I also mounted the tires on slightly wider rims than my stock rims, Everything fits nice and neatly in the stock wheel wells.
I also got a set of RS3's (clear out price!) that I mounted on my stock rims for track day use.

Hoping to be competitive and having fun this season!

I was there last year. No one ran into anything.
I'm just having fun with the HPDE's figure just run 8 tenths and not push it so hard.
its really no different than the nascar section at VIR. Guard rails and objects are pretty close there too. Same with pretty much any track I've been to which is not a whole lot but you know Nürburgring is pretty tight, I drove that in the rain, Road America has some tricky sections, Willow Springs raceway, etc. etc.

I am all signed up for the practice event.  Hopefully I will get this chain issue taken care of before the event. Misaligned sprocket issue.  You can take my kart out if you want.  Not a shifter kart but just as fun because you are at the same height with the cones and they look like orange blurs.

that sounds like a plan to me!

Is anyone up for swapping rides for the October 2nd AutoX?
I would love to drive something other than a Corvette.
shifter cart might be fun!

I believe that the 92 Corvette (#804) should be in B Street not A Street

Did any one find a tire pressure gauge in the grid Sunday? I went looking for it today and I had sinking feeling I left it behind. Liquid filled with a 45 degree angle chuck.

Thanks,
Kevin

Yes, its in the trailer.
If you need it soon I'd get with Bud so he can open the trailer.

73  General Category / Ask the Competition Committee / Re: Opinions on running by class on: July 27, 2016, 06:31:28 PM
I'm use to it now!
However I did like gridding up next to Ricardo, Paul, Joe, Jeff, James, Marc, ect in a single heat. Pretty much all different classes.
Made it fun because raw time is where its at! and we all know pax is pretty much random (best guess, thats why it changes every year) especially when it gets down to the local level.

here is my best run!
5th and last run. Tough course for my Vette! I need to ride or have Chris run with me and give me some pointers.
I had a blast though as usual and this is why I do this.

75  Results / Autocross / Re: Unmarked cones..... on: July 11, 2016, 01:25:48 PM
I'll take responsibility for that, I thought I had marked them all as I walked the course. I however did not mark the lay down/ wall cones, as it was my understanding they were for safety and clarity, not for penalties. I guess i should have had that clarified.

Aaron, hey you did good! All part of learning about being a OD
