How bad is the torque steer? I am amazed how bad it is in the Mini without nearly as much power as you have.

David

I thought it was bad going from an 88 rx7 to the 95 sable lol . the Rx7 would go around corners like its back wheels actually turned with the front it handled so well , then I had to fight with the sable or just learn how to drive slow witch i did .

The electronic nannies do a pretty good job clearing that up . Usually if you get on it hard its noticeable if there is good traction nothing unmanageable though . It took a little getting used to taking corners + hard  exceleration and having to physically straighten the steering wheel back out with the DSC off .  It has extra reinforcement around the floor and center tunnel , across the strut towers a torque sensing limited slip , equal length reinforced drive shafts and somehow the ECU robs it of torque in 1,2,3rd gears probably why the car feels like it has more power in each successive gear .

my 95 mecury sable used to do the same thing around corners though . So its actually really good

the speed3 could very well be underated from the factory . Road and track said "263 bhp at 5500 rpm and 280 lb.-ft. of torque at 3000 rpm give this bronc some serious "giddyup," with a midrange that punches harder than anything in its class. The power drops clear off the map at 6000 rpm, irking a few editors on staff since it's useless to run the engine up to its 6750-rpm redline,

263 bhp at 5500 rpm and 280 lb.-ft. of torque at 3000 rpm  I would hardly believe tq on a turbo car would stop at 3000 .

You can see a difference when comparing the stock vs tune after 5500 seems to hold the throttle open a bit longer but thats the only thing I see different . Thinking about getting that turbo-back exhaust put on and running in DSP . Only thing is this car is worthless without traction and a decent driver and I don't have either haha

I was under the assumption it did at first but I've read stock boosts up to 19.5 which i've never personally seen reason I asked Kevin to dyno it in 5th was because you can feel more power in that gear on the interstate just curious really . turns out theres a big difference . The only thing I can say positive about the tune is that it holds to redline a little bit better , but I'll let the graphs speak . Here's the best "hp base vs best hp tune" and closest comparison "base to tune" both actually in 4th gear on the later.

I did max smoothing on both so i could make some sense of them .

I know the dynographs are both in SAE but the base tune was 30 degree's warmer outside .

personally I think the best thing the tuner is for so far is to clear CEL's lol .

both in blue are tuned maps both red are stock maps  first graph is 5th gear "blue" vs 4th "red"

I can't believe how long that rx8 holds onto its power curve And Rogers Z06 numbers are incredible .
