Looks like a long enough list to make just about anyone broke for a season.

Tried that, didn't work.

It's got a nice torque curve  good area underneath it.
56  Pictures and Media / Pictures and Media from Events / Re: Verona Blue Ridge SCCA 3/22 on: March 30, 2015, 06:23:18 PM
Everybody knows Verona gets slower as the day progresses. First heat had the benifit of driving on a nicely swept course. Bernard, Gene and I had to drive on the marbles.....

I believe that warning is intended for "normals" not autocrossers....
58  General / Open Forum / Re: supercar autocross experience on: February 21, 2015, 04:10:21 PM

I did one with Jeff last year, I walked away with the feeling that they would have rather held the event in an elementary school parking lot. I did get to drive a 458 Italia !! It is a beautiful car but it was pouring down rain......

Tried a Nascar driving experience and it was ok no passenger seat in the car..... All instruction was through a headset I thought it was pretty fun seemed like a whole lot of down time waiting and very little driving.
59  General / Open Forum / Re: getting started: minimum requirements? on: February 21, 2015, 03:01:06 PM
Welcome to the club!  I started last year so I'm no expert but I can certainly show you around. When you get to your first event find me (I'm in the blue and white boxster ), I can walk the course with you and make sure you get registered, tech, etc. it's a very laid back group, you'll be hooked.

At first glance I thought Stuart said he would be walking around in the blue and white boxers...

All jokes aside I would just show up to the first event and wing it, then you have an autocross under your belt and you will know what to do at the second event.

We go over the rules at the drivers meeting and do a novice course walk-through before people start driving the course.

63  General / Open Forum / Re: 2015 PAX on: December 01, 2014, 11:59:19 AM
The rules state that the cars must weight 3000 lbs nowhere in the CAM rules state the car has to be stock from the factory at that weight or above or that ballast cannot be added.

Problem is if you build it and win the SCCA will change that rule too but for now everyone is jumping on the corvette bandwagon.

With that said it would probably still be a good idea to email the SCCA before going out on a dedicated Vega build for CAM.
64  General / Open Forum / Re: Happy Thanksgiving on: November 27, 2014, 10:42:47 AM

Where i'm going there will be no turkey only chicken. I'm going to go to the store tomorrow and get me some discount turkey to cook up for myself butterfly style this weekend.
65  General / Open Forum / Re: 2015 PAX on: November 24, 2014, 06:44:10 AM
CAM seems like a good fit. Would probably have to add a fair amount of weight but that wouldn't be so bad depending on where you add it. Preferably structural bracing low center and rearward. Bonus is you can go full pro touring and still have room for ballast.

That ls3 Vega build i've been considering is looking more and more appealing.

Register early by clicking the second to last tab at the top of the website. You should show up as early as you can so you can get your numbers on the car and walk the course. The more you walk the course the better you will do when it comes time to run.

72  Results / Autocross / Re: Results from October 12 Autocross on: October 20, 2014, 02:40:28 PM
Hello everyone,
10-12-14 was my first ever time driving in a race or a track at all. I noticed there is a "rookie" column in the results - what's that for?
I had a great time even though I got frustrated after getting lost on the course a couple of times (I should have asked for help) but at the end of the day I never hit any cones and had a 76 second run that I was happy with Smiley (I was in the black Focus)
I got there late so no time to mingle... see you all next time!

Results are updated and added you to novice

Channel 12 not sure about the reporter channel 8 was there also, I think they took a wrong turn at the gate and meant to be at the other event.

I don't have cable so I don't even know if it wound up in the news or not. It would be nice for the club to get some exposure.
