10  Results / Autocross / Re: May 21 Results on: May 22, 2017, 06:35:26 AM
Wow...tied to the thousandth!!  One list shows my time as 38.403?  What determines the tie breaker?

Great day, fun course, really good people.  Thanks to everybody for a successful weekend.

Final results all the way down at the bottom by class, shows all runs if you look to the right under the "total" column your run actually shows 38.403 instead of .404 this may be a typo or a result of the computer rounding you to the nearest number. If you both did run a 38.404 I assume its possible that participants are sorted by last name and Jeff was inserted into the 2nd position.

11  Results / Autocross / Re: May 21 Results on: May 21, 2017, 06:46:48 PM
Looks like e street results are a little close between Jeff and John. In the breakdown of runs it looks like the final column shows John ran a 38.403 to Jeff's 38.404 but in overall it shows them with the same times 38.404.  To close to call but this is where tens of thousandths count.
12  Results / Autocross / Re: April 30 Results on: May 02, 2017, 06:42:13 AM
I think that cone call on #1 ES Mr2's second run 61.061 was in error if you could just double check the paper copy : )
13  General Category / Ask the Competition Committee / Re: Oil catch can on: April 25, 2017, 06:10:09 AM
Looks pretty good. How hard is yours to empty?
I recently installed one on the Vette and it looks great but to empty it without spilling anything will be a challenge.

Did you get the Elite engineering one ? The one I have just unscrews from the bottom like a thermos, never spilled a drop. You don't want to let it get to full I supposed then there would be an issue.
14  General Category / Ask the Competition Committee / Re: Oil catch can on: April 14, 2017, 06:26:59 AM

As Mark said the throttle body and intake ports on the intake manifold side that mate to the engine were icky when I did the clutch which spawned me to get one. Its not like oil its more of a smeary pasty type of gummy bear film that you wouldn't want to lick.
15  General Category / Ask the Competition Committee / Re: Oil catch can on: April 09, 2017, 03:54:10 PM
The catch can on my corvette catches the oil before it enters the intake but doesn't block the path. The oil it catches is pretty nasty looking when I remember to change it.

17  General / Technical Help / Re: 2017 street tires on: March 09, 2017, 06:07:52 PM
Stick with the RE-71R unless the R-S4's somehow has caught up. I'll wait for the Tire Rack tests.

Then you read stuff like this :

18  General / Technical Help / Re: wheel widening on: March 07, 2017, 05:29:24 AM

A previous co-worker split off and started a franchise I believe called "Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists" In Richmond, not sure if they do widening or not I have heard of "weldcraftwheels" in Michigan that do it.

Why wouldn't he try to get the original wheel manufacturer to make an inner barrel ? Do they want too much ? I know CCW wanted to much to justify doing it for me.
19  Events / Other Events / Re: No dyno day for now on: February 24, 2017, 05:31:24 AM

Thanks for the update, I was thinking about doing the MR2 if we had one. Now I can be spared the disappointment from the results.
20  General / Open Forum / Re: Riding with your co-driver? on: February 19, 2017, 05:44:17 AM
I never had an issue with it but a lot of people did. Is the OD allowed to make exemptions at each event on this ?

Even so complaints will come in because the same people do it every event and those same people are good and getting better because of it. Data-logging is even more of an advantage and thats allowed so why can't competitors ride along with each other ?

21  General / Technical Help / Re: 2017 street tires on: February 11, 2017, 05:26:37 AM

That bothered me about my 17 inch ccw's couldn't find appropriate 17 inch street tires in wide sizes for the vette almost like it was in style to run gigantic front brakes and 1 inch taller wheels in the rear.
22  General / Technical Help / Re: 2017 street tires on: February 10, 2017, 05:59:20 PM
Looks like the updated Rival-s v 1.5 are on tire rack website. Some have been changed from W to V speed ratings to adjust for higher loads.

Does anyone know the date the tire construction changed ?
23  General / Technical Help / 2017 street tires on: February 07, 2017, 05:22:45 AM

The Re71r is proven and unchanged for 2017

The Rival-s is the other "Top Dog" changes have been made in 255 and smaller to improve turn in and transitional response. I'm still not sure exactly how to tell if your getting the new tires. Here is an explanation From brgoodrichracing :

 Grassroots :

The Hankook RS4 are showing on the tire rack website as available on 3-17-17 not much is known but they appear to be lightweight and have a very wide tread width. The tread depth also starts at 8.9/32 which is pretty deep maybe to meet the 200 treadwear standard ? Most likely to be shaved award.
