Title: Ice driving...
Post by: pipefitter on November 20, 2017, 06:44:23 AM
I have to be honest...I have never been comfortable autocrossing my Camaro. I've been competing with it since 2003, and haven't been happy with the way I've driven it in more than 15 events, (and there are a lot of events in that length of time!). It has 1 or 2 PAX FTD's to it's credit, and many top 10 indexed finishes over the years. But yesterday???? Geez. Four seasons on tires that weren't real good to start with, and the discovery of yet another broken front sway bar pillar bracket made for a handful. (Once I got it home). I did notice the course workers hiding behind poles when I was on the course, and I don't blame them. :) On the plus side, I'm ready for winter driving. I turned 14,000 miles on the car driving home.

So what's your plans for next year? Hope to see you out more regularly next year.

Since its a safety issue, you should write a letter to petition the use of reinforced brackets like the ones Alan Blaine sells.

They're allowed. Or they were back in 2012 or so. Plans for next year are up in the air.....a new car, a different car that I already own, or some work on the Camaro.
