Title: I think I am being mis-classed
Post by: askeptic on July 21, 2015, 08:10:43 PM
I am running a Z3 with a 4-cylinder 1.9 liter engine and in the latest event I am classed as STU.  Hard to believe my little 1.9 is in the same class as M3's.  Can you please check for me -- I thought I was STS.
Thanks,
Dennis

You should be STS as you have been all along. Page 177 of the 2015 Rules.

Looks like STS to me. What mods do you have that move you from stock?
Did you sign up for STS?

Hi Gene,
I checked on SCCA for STS and all mods seem to qualify as they have in the past - Koni adjustables, lowering springs, strut bar, beefier sways, short-shifter, roll bar.  Running 225-45-17's Dunlop Direzza streets.  No body mods.
Thanks!

My fault on this. After each event, I move any car that doesn't appear to fit the class. I thought STS was a miata and civic class. Didn't even know BMW made 4 cylinder cars in the US. I will update this weekend.

Thanks!
