Title: Results?
Post by: rgades on July 16, 2008, 08:30:38 AM
Hello all. When are the results usually posted? Thanks!

They are usually posted within a few days of the event. I would expect them soon.

P.S.   More than likely they took a look at the results, saw that I did well, and are now questioning the validity of them and are hesitant to post them until they can confirm that a G35 does not stink at autox!  :P

It is Wednesday afternoon and I still don't see any results posted. Anybody knows, when they are coming?

Be patient, they are not always easy to validate and get posted

p.s. the person who complains the most about posting scores automatically volutneers as co-od at the next event . . .    :)

juist kidding, but not a bad idea

I know it is for the second time I am asking, but it is Thursday evening and still no results posted. Is everything ok? I have never seen that happened before. Let me know if I can help if there is an issue.

Oh, it's happened before.  I've seen 10+ days go by without any results.  People just don't always have the time it takes to sort out computer glitches, bad hand-writing on the manual sheets, cone-counts that differ wildly, and minute classing quibbles.

Often when results are posted same-day, they're listed as "preliminary" results.

As someone has already stated, it does take time to sort through a whole lot of "glitches, bad handwriting, etc."

But all is now MOSTLY well. That is to say I found to cars times WRITTEN down but not in the computer. I have times for cars 76 and 83, but no car info on them. Thus I can not put them into the computer. When I receive thier data this will obviously effect the results.

The results are posted in MYAUTOEVENTS minus the mentioned cars.

Number 76 is Rick Carson in the G-Stock Mini

Lonnie,

I have found classing errors and am listing the corrections to the best of my ability. If you are on this list please let us know if this is not correct:

Aaron H. Z3 should be STS2
Bob S. S2000 should be BSP
Rick C. Integra Type R registered in DSP, but usually runs DS
John F. Mazda 3 should be HS
John H. M Coupe should be ASP
Cory B. MX-5 normally runs in CSP
Derrek F. should be STX, unless he ran SM this event
Dana C. M3 should be AS
Fantas Ng S2000 should be AS
Chris C. Mazdaspeed 3 signed up in SM

Hopefully next event will go smoother. Thanks for working all of this out!

The results are posted in MYAUTOEVENTS ...

For anyone else who is not clear on what that means, for this event just click on:
http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frmEventDetail.ShowResults?psEVENT_ID=8624 (http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frmEventDetail.ShowResults?psEVENT_ID=8624)

Anyone who has never been involved in scoring an event has no idea how labor-intensive it is.  "But it's all in the computer" you say?  Even when that is mostly true, the manually kept cards must be verified and reconciled with the computer scores.  For this event, we have the added joy of garbled and missing information in the computer.  And as Scott notes, the usual cloud of classing issues.  And so it goes.

The wheels of Justice (and of scoring) grind slowly, but do grind exceeding fine.
My admiring appreciation goes out to all who volunteer for the task.

PS:  Now for the oblligatory nit-picking:  only the first section header in the report has the correct event name "SPIN_DIZZY", the others have "NASCAR_TURNS".  But the dates are right in all the headers, and the times match, so trust us already and ignore the page headers.  Precision typping is knot amung our manny talllentts.   ;D
