I DRIVE A 2002 WRX AND IM LOCATED IN RICHMOND, ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!

First, welcome to VMSC's website. We have a couple of good references linked here that will tell you all you want to know - and probably more. You can find them here - http://www.vmsc.org/links/autocross-reference-material.html.

Rather than just reading, I would suggest you come to one of our autocrosses and either watch one first if you have never seen one, or just jump in and participate. You do not have to be a member to watch or drive. Non-members pay $30 to drive while members pay $25. Watching is free!

Our next autocross is June 15th at Richmond International Raceway (RIR). You can register on-line by clicking the registration link at the top. (It will ask you for the class of your car. If your WRX is stock, then it goes in D Stock. If you have made modifications, tell us what they are and we can tell you what class you are in.)

On the day of the autocross, the gates open about 8:00, you can register from 9-10:00, there is a driver's meeting at 10:30, and we start the autocross at 11:00. Just identify yourself as new to autocrossing at registration and someone will explain how things work. That is how I started about 6 years ago and the only thing I have regretted is that I didn't start sooner.

Fire away if you have more questions.

Welcome!!
You have taken a good first step by finding our forum.  While we would love to have you join us, you don't need to become a member to run in our events.  Our event schedule is here:
    http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frmClubDetail.Show?psclub_id=404
and you can show up at the start of any event, part with the entry fee, and join the fun.

We are running our autocross events this year at the Richmond Raceway Complex on Laburnum Avenue, and at the Virginia Motorsports Park in Dinwiddie.  Our next event is at RRC on Sun Jul 13th, so come on out and join the fun.  Come early so you can chat with the folks setting up their cars and setting up the track.  Your WRX should need nothing more than air in the tires (and a precautionary check of your oil, etc.) to be ready to go.

Hope to see you there!

Welcome again and we look forward to seeing you at our next event

We also have some good reference materials on our website - see <Home> - <Upload & Download Files> for two or three articles that are good for new autocrossers

The intake will put you in Street Touring X, but the blow-off valve I think moves you all the way to Street Mod. Register for SM and note that you are  a novice. If I am wrong we can fix it when your car is teched at the event.

Welcome to the VMSC board and we hope to see you out there in June for your first autocross. Most folks would be happy to let you ride along if you don't want to drive.

Also please turn off the caps lock. It makes your posts really difficult to read.
