Some people have reported that their forum logins have stopped functioning in the last week. There are some notes on this point.
1. I have noticed some interruptions in communication between the forum software and its user database. If your forum login fails, please wait a while and try it again before reporting an incident, as the login failure may be due to one of these temporary interruptions.
2. The forum software is set up to handle only one access point. So, anyone who still has the old
http://70.96.188.37/ address bookmarked or cached won't be able to log in. The forum now accepts logins only from
http://www.vmsc.org/. If you can reach the login page but the forum just ignores you when you enter your user ID and password, that's probably the issue.
3. If you're accessing the forum from work, it's possible that your workplace's network security isn't allowing the authentication process to get through.
4. Your web browser needs to accept all cookies originating from
www.vmsc.org.
If you check all of the above and you still can't log in, send an email to
operator@vmsc.org which contains your forum login ID, your existing password, and a new password to use in case the old one is somehow broken. I will then test your account and let you know what I find.
