Henrico Speed Festival
Come out and celebrate the excitement of auto racing in a fun, clean, family- friendly environment! Try out your competitive racing skills with micro reality racing! Let the kids speed around the Playtona Speedway! Live music will feature the country sounds of the Roadhouse Rowdies and the rock and roll cover tunes of Random Play. Also enjoy racing themed contests and games, face painting, and arts and crafts. Concessions available for purchase.

Sat, Apr 28, 1-4 p.m.
Dorey Park. Free.

Henrico County asked VMSC to participate in the Speed Festival. They asked us to do an autocross demo, but unfortunately their parking lot was too small to meet our insurance requirements. We are taking the trailer, several cars, and TVs and autocross videos. We will be trolling for new members. Come, enjoy the Festival, and stop by to the trailer to say hi.

Dorey Park & Recreation Center, 2999 Darbytown Rd.

From downtown Richmond:

Take I-64 East until you reach the Laburnum Ave. exit. Take a right at the stoplight onto Laburnum Ave. Continue on Laburnum Ave., crossing Williamsburg Rd., then Charles City Rd., and then past Nabisco. Continue on to Darbytown Rd. Take a left onto Darbytown Rd. and stay on it for approximately 1.5 miles. Dorey Park will be on your right.

The Chocolate Festival is at UR on Saturday.  Tickets can be purchased at For the Love of Chocolate in Carytown.  I think they should still be available, but you might want to call.

Why don't you guys go get some chocolate and bring it over to the Speed Festival? I am pretty sure it would not go to waste. I read the other day that a balanced meal is chocolate in each hand.
