gas tank repair

I have a friend with an old Triumph Stag. He has a lot of loose rust in the gas tank. Does anyone know of a local place that will clean the tank and recoat it? He doesn't want to have to ship the tank to have it fixed if he can avoid it.
Thanks.

Have him check out "por15". I'm certain they have a website. I've used their products before, but not the fuel tank repair chemicals.

Also check your local Motorcyle (mainly harley) shops. They normally have flush and coating for gas tanks. (may just need double the normal bike amount)

I bought some cleaner and sealer from Ken's Cycle in Highland Springs several years ago. The tank on my '09 Hupmobile was leaking. It was easy to use and solved the leaking problem. Most bike shops carry some type of sealer.

If he does decide to clean it himself, we used to use cleaner and a bunch of bb's to help 'scrub' the tank clean. Inexpensive but it did the trick on old dirtbikes that had been sitting for a long time.

Eastwood sells a
gas tank repair kit
. He might want to look at one of those.

Thanks. Tom recommended a shop that does it. That is what he was really wanted.
