The results are in and done.  I've sent them to Jon Derrenbacker to host on his server and hopefully the links will be up during the day on Monday.

Computer and cards are in my possession and I will bring them to the Members meeting next Thursday.

Joe

Results have been posted to VMSC's site.  Are these official?  If so, WOW!  Great turn-around time.

Yes...these results should be final.  All changes that needed to be made (as noted on the cards) were made...And all times and penalties were checked against the cards.

If there's a mistake, please post it up and I'll double check the cards/computer.

The date is wrong on the Results page:   it says "July 23".

In novice, the Civic paxed in E/SP should be in E/P, (I think. I didn't tech the car but thought the interior was gutted), or F/SP, making a change in trophy position. Also, with all the emphasis PAX has on club points, a closer look needs to be taken at the AMG Mercedes in F/S. My .02

Yeah, I missed the Civic Wagon N-ESP...also Zach Mcafee (I believe) is in the wrong class.  I'll look that one up tonight...

I'm not going to post up the corrections for a day or two, I want to make sure I didn't miss anything else so we only have one revision.

If anyone else catches anything, please post it up!

I teched the Civic and put it in EP. I am not sure how it ended up in the computer or on the card as ESP. The interior was completely stripped. There is no way it was SP eligible.

I am also uncomfortable with the SL55 in FS as I said yesterday. I posted the question on the SCCA Forums. I like the answer I got.  "I would have put it in ASP.  A 500 hp two seater just doesn't belong in FS and the FS catchall doesn't apply to sports cars.  The ASP catchall is applicable."

An SLK 55 is listed in AS.  Is this the AMG version of that car? I looked thru the '06 Fastracks and found no reference to a change in class.  ( I did not look thru late '05)  The AMG version of this car may not meet the minimum production rules, but I can't see any reason for it to be any stronger than a C6 ZO6, and that car has been approved for SS in '07.  I may be mistaken, but the latest AMG cars are not really the "low productin tuner cars" that they once were.  (I'm not saying that they are not to be considered "super cars", just that they are more available than they used to be.)  I would put it in SS, possibly even in AS.

the sl"k"55 is the AMG version of the small mercedes slk roadster, 355 hp and a curb weight of 3455lbs.  Currently in A stock I believe.

The SL55 is the AMG version of the sl500.  Same base motor as the slk55, but with a supercharger and rated for 470hp and a weight of 4315lbs.

That said, I'd agree with the logic that it doesn't belong in F Stock with pony cars and 4 door super sedans.  AS or SS would appear to be the best home for it.

While the SLK 55 is in AS, the SL55 is not otherwise classified. thus, a NOC V8 goes in F-stock until classified otherwise, or is that not correct? Now i'm not sure of where the SL55 is derrived from, but having been in one, and knowing it weighs in at over 4300 lbs, i would assume it to be a sedan derived convertible of sorts.

I doubt that you could make much of a case for this car as being "sedan based".  It may have many parts that are derived from some Mercedes sedan, but is a high performance 2 passenger roadster with more than likely a shorter wheelbase than the sedan that it may have been built from.  It is not a NOC 4 seat sedan or convertible.  Because of it's weight, it might end up classed in FS, but it would have to be specifically called out in the FS list.

Since there are no 2 seat, super-charged, or turboed 470hp V-8's  in F/S, and the catch-all should not apply. An SS Camaro is bounced all the way to A/S, with 15 more ponies, larger wheels, swaybars, Koni's, etc.

The 2006 SCCA Rulebook, Appendix A, 2nd paragraph says, "All unclassified cars will compete in Super Stock until classified by the SEB, unless covered by a “catch-all” description.

The catchall for FS says. "V8 sedans, pick-ups, and sedan derived convertibles NOC." While it is a V8, I don't think a mercedes 2-seater is sedan based or a convertible derived from a sedan. Accordingly, I think the car goes in SS.

Fine by me, I didn't know they hide the "SS catch-all" in the appendix. That works!

When I was handed my sticky note with my best time on it, the note said 51.343; in the results it says 51.334.  It doesn't affect PAX, RAW, or Final standings, but if you're looking for something to check, and really want to take away .009 seconds , you're welcome to start there.
