Hi, I'm Mikki, and I'm interested in getting involved in the auto-cross races Smiley  I never was much into racing, but since buying a 2011 Evo GSR, I've been looking for ways to play with her Smiley

I'm (hopefully!) in the last couple of months of writing my dissertation and the Evo is my early graduation present ... so I can't get fully into the Saturday races until I graduate, but I definitely want to attend the new racers class in April!

Anyway, just wanted to say hi before I start registering for things Smiley

Welcome Mikki
Good news is our events are primarily on Sunday's, except the schools and practice events - maybe you can sneak a few hours in then

We have a good group of folks in the club and will make sure you get a good start and have fun

We have a membership meeting the third Thursday of each month and you are welcome to come and meet folks

Look forward to seeing you at the school

LOL you're more disciplined than I... if I bought myself an Evo I doubt I would have been thinking much about my defense.   Grin

LOL ... well since it's my graduation present, I'm kinda obligated to graduate now Wink

When I need stress relief, I practice my skills (I have few, yet!) on the twisty back roads of Hanover!!

Hello Mikki,
You'll find that everyone here is willing to help the new people (like me) find their way. It's fun to see how far you can push your car without spinning, although there isn't much chance of that with an Evo.
Join in on the fun when you can.

Welcome to a fellow newbie!  Smiley

I didn't realize there were any twisty roads in Richmond.

sorry, been off doing school things, but now i'm back and registered for the beginners class on the 28th.

For a fun run, go up 95N to the Ashland exit and go east (Rt 54), then take the first right.  There are several S-turns rated at 25 and 35 mph, then it dumps out onto Sliding Hill Rd and I'm home Smiley

I can take the 25mph turns at 45 and 35mph turns at almost 60, could probably do more but I do try to stay in my lane since it's a public road LOL.
