Hi everyone,

Sorry for the very late notice, but I got an email from Jeff last night saying that tonight is the first opportunity to earn points towards trophies?  Could one of you explain the system to a newbie?  Do karting results go towards your overall standings?  Last meeting (November?) we raced before and after the meeting...which time counts?  I may be working at a friends shop until almost 8, and just wanted to know if I should duck out early for any racing before the meeting.

I'm officially a member now, and definitely want to get in on the fun!  Thanks in advance!

The karts are for fun.  We normally try to get there about 6:30 to 7:00 and run a race or two before the 8:00 meeting, and one (or two) after.  The points are for attending the meeting (or maybe for eating pizza--I'm not sure which).

I've been meaning to do this for a while.  I just posted up an explanation of how the points work here.

Thanks for the info everyone!  Looking forward to competing this year.

Also, I notice there is no TVR marque trophy.  Hypothetically speaking, if I bought a decrepit 2500M for a couple grand and campaigned it for a season (plus added the $100, obviously), could that be rememdied?

Absolutely.  We use Bunkie Trinite trophies if you're interested in looking at different styles and pricing.  If you're at the banquet we'll have all the current trophies displayed.  I think the VW one is the most elaborate.

Isn't there a rule for new marques...  I believe board members have to take a few jo- I mean test drives in the car first to, uh, officially approve it for club events.   Grin

My house in Ohio is finally in contract, once I'm free of that commitment I'm going to be in the unique position of (some, not alot) money, no better half to say no, and LOTS of unique project cars cheap.

TVR to an auto-x?

Wow, bookmarked for the pictures alone!  That's very nice!  Although I think it's out of my price range (from the ad):

"BEFORE YOU ASK ABOUT BUYING THIS CAR

Please note that this car is a part of the owner's
Personal Collection.

It is not listed here for the purposes of selling it, so please don't call or email asking for a sale price. However, if you really do want to buy this car, feel free to make an offer. Do realize that this car was purchased as an investment and an addition to a collection. So, it will likely take a sizeable offer to pry it away from this collector.

If you are seriously interested in a car like this one and have some patience, Midlife Classics can work with you to obtain and restore a car like this to your personal specifications."

I'm selling a house in Ohio, not Nova, we're lucky to break even out there  Wink.
