Christmas concert 12/17 8pm

( I tried to come up with some connection between this and autocross, but no luck. Sorry! ; )

In any case, if you like the idea of some classical tunes to offset the shopping mall holiday muzak you've been enduring lately, check out the Richmond Renaissance Singers Christmas concert on Saturday the 17th at 8pm. The program contains both older music (Josquin des Pres, Palestrina, Praetorious) and some modern pieces (Poulenc, Rutter, Simpson). Admission is free.

It's a short program (we try to keep it to about an hour including a brief intermission), so it fits neatly between dinner and the next party on your list. Even if this type of music isn't your usual cup of tea, you may find it a refreshing break from the holiday craziness.
