Here are some photos from today. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ogburn/sets/72157627566797052/Congrats to Courtney Cormier for winning his first national championship (ASP), to Mike Johnson for finishing second in ASP, and to Donna Marx for finishing third in SSL. Dave runs tomorrow in AS, 5th heat on the west course. It was hot as hell here today (heat index of 100) and is supposed to be hotter tomorrow. The guy who won SS (by 1.4 seconds over Sam Strano) used a different set of tires on each of his three runs to keep the tires from overheating. David |

Here are some from 9-1, the first run day of the Thursday-Friday group. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ogburn/sets/72157627572787452/Dave is driving an '04 Vette in A Stock. It is 99 in the photos. His co-driver is Lane Borg who works with him at Goodyear. Lane autocrossed a Vette with BRR while at Va. Tech. He is 199 in the photos. Dave is 4th after Day 1, .35 out of first. He coned away his best rub which would have put him in the lead by .5. Note the '46 Jeep in E Mod. It has a Chevy Cobalt turbo motor and a 2-speed Doug Nash transmission. It is second to Jeff Keisel's green Sprite with turbo rotary power. David |

Not yet. They run the east course late tomorrow afternoon. Best combined times count. Tomorrow's course is supposed to be much more Corvette friendly than today's Cayman friendly course. We will see!
The uncertainty over the strike caused me not to plan to haul the MINI to Lincoln this year. It did end soon enough for me to fly out here to help Dave. I plan to drive again next year.

Thanks guys! The Vettes and Porche's were much closer than I expected and the finishing order was certainly different than SportsCar predicted...
The guy is Paul Brown...he said everybody in our class needed a big gold chain. He event wore it to the banquet. Pretty funny guy.
