So in a quest to get rid of some of that horrible body roll, understeer, and maximize the car, I'm starting my winter build early and searching for coilovers!

I've seen some good deals new and used online, so please give me your suggestions, opinions, and advice.  If there's something else you guys & gals preffer or a different spring combination, let me know.

AST 4100 with 9k springs front & 10k springs rear for $1750.  Add Vorshlag camber plates for $400 and rear shock mounts for $200 = $2350 give or take.

Ohlins DFV Road & Track with 9k springs front & 10k springs rear, along with camber plates and rsm for $3200 - $3400.

Ohlins DFV Road & Track with CBRD valving and 10k springs front & rear, camber plates, and rsm for ~ $3400.

JRZ RS with 9k springs front & 10k springs rear with camber plates and rsm for $3200 - $3400. (Slightly used)

Car will be running on 18x10 or 18x10.5 wheels & probably Nitto NT01 next season.

 Get Hoosiers and a spare set of rims ! Unless you already have them coilovers will net you .5 secs hoosiers will net you 3.0 seconds and you can stay in stock class !

I know nothing about Evos or setting up an AWD car.  You may want to head over to sccaforums.com and see what the popular setup is in BSP.

I have to second what Chris said though.  The tires will make a huge difference, plus a proper alignment.  I'd probably go with some Kumhos though, they'll last longer.

lol I'm not stock class as is.  I'm already in BSP.  Agreed on the tires though.  I will have a extra set of rims, just don't know if I'm ready for the purple crack yet.

Yea problem is almost all the BSP Evos are VIII & IX.  Hardly anyone has tried to build a strong X due to the extra weight  Embarrassed

Sucks that you can't set up an AWD car Justin.  Was hoping when I got these coilovers, you'd help me fine tune it lol.

I can help you corner weight it and whatnot (I have scales).  I have a tendency of setting up cars that are not easy to drive, so I'm probably not the best point of reference, but I don't know how you could go wrong with Ohlins (other than spending that extra $1k).

You gonna do sway bars or anything?  I wouldn't worry too much about spring rates for now...they're cheap and easy to swap out.

I take the scientific approach to tuning.  Isolate one variable and work from there.  So first the coilovers set up (ride height, alignment, corner balance), then coilover tuning (rebound/compression), then if I can't get what I need from there I'll add swaybar(s).

Just don't want too many variables at the same time to where we don't know what exactly is causing what.
