I'm helping a friend sell his 1986 MR2.
Hardtop - rare option sought after by people planning to autocross the car because it is lighter and stiffer than sunroof or T-Top cars.
Cruise control - car has it and the switch works, but for some reason it does not engage. Probably a simple fix.
Good interior
Manual locks/windows - again, sought after by enthusiasts for the lighter weight
5-speed manual transmission shifts great.
Aftermarket CD player installed
Inspection good thru Feb 2012
Front tires look new, rear tires are not, but still good tread on them
160,XXX miles
1.6L 4A-GE engine runs like a top, sounds great, revs smoothly and quickly, pulls surprisingly hard for 112hp, and gets over 30mpg
Car runs/drives/shifts fantastic and feels very solid
Exterior has some rust in the typical spots - rear fenders near the C-pillar, rear wheel arches, some on the bottom of the front valence. All cosmetic.
Paint scheme is somewhat rare "Sherwood Toning" dark green and cream two-tone with a lovely red pin-stripe. Clear coat is peeling in spots on the roof, but most of the paint is in great shape.
Car doesn't even have the usual AW11 MR2 issues - broken c-pillar trim, noisy over bumps from a worn steering rack bushing, or broken intermediate wipers. None of those problems.
This car is a TON of fun to drive and I hope it goes to a good home with someone that will drive this car the way it was ment to be driven and treat it right.
